Cost just £800, the colt's dam didn't show much on the racecourse despite being related to a good number of winner; big improvement required after a poor effort on debut at Beverley last month.

Dam related to winners over further and was already feeling the pinch when he was hampered at Leicester on debut. Might do better in handicaps when upped in trip on that evidence.

11/1
Cost £5,000 and is a nicely-bred filly out of a dam that is a close relative of a couple of 1m2f winner. Well backed on debut but was readily brushed aside. The blinkers might help here but a lot of guesswork is involved.

Horse silk

Cost £8,000 and is a half-sister to Vindicator, a winner over 1m4f/1m6f; but does also have speed on both sides of her pedigree. Yard going well and worth a betting check.

Hypochondriac12

5/2
Cost 20,000 gns as a yearling and posted an encouraging effort when staying on to good effect over an extended 5f at Brighton last month. Has winners over this trip in her bloodlines and has to be worth a betting check at least.
Cost 800 gns and has made little impact in two previous starts; probably do better over further given time.

Horse silk

Bred to be effective over sprint distances but was never a factor on debut and a big step forward is required.

Dam was unraced but related to a Group 2 winner over 7f; has the likes of other Group winners Taiq Too and Mobsta in her bloodlines. From a high respected yard. Worth noting in the betting.

Related to a good handful of winners and ought to have benefited from his debut run at Beverly last month. More required but is kept to a modest level and could possibly make the frame with an improved effort here.

Hypochondriac (5/2), Gold Venture (10/3), Tiny Titan (5/1), Six Gun (6/1), Is She The One (9/1), Frida Kahlo (11/1), She's A Diamond (12/1), Zampa Road (14/1), Little Devil (20/1), Vodka Dawn (33/1), Youthfilly (33/1), Jakodobro (40/1), Siena Bay (50/1)

Verdict

TINY TITAN is introduced at a very modest level and could be a cut above the rest in this ordinary seller; her yard has won two of the last five renewals of this race and this looks like another piece of good placement. On pedigree, Hypochondriac looks the pick of the two David Evans-trained contenders and she looked to be going the right way with a solid run at Brighton last time. The betting can guide where she is concerned. Gold Venture and Youthfilly are a couple of others to monitor closely in the betting market.
  1. Tiny Titan
  2. Hypochondriac
  3. Gold Venture
