62,000gns yearling; second foal from a 1m+ AW scorer (Vanity Rules). Bred for further but could not have been more impressive than when easing to success over this trip on debut. Likely to have a lot more to offer and the one to beat.

Son of Kodiac fetched £21,000 as a yearling. An early juvenile runner for the stable and others appeal more on breeding.

£11,000 yearling. Seventh foal. Brother to 7f AW winner Mia Cara, closely related to 1m 2yo winner Vita Mina. Dam 1m2f-1m4f winner. Unfancied when veering and unseasting rider early on debut and hard to recommend.

Forecasts

Xcelente (4/9), Kidda (4/1), She Looks Like Fun (7/1), Il Maestro (8/1), River of Kings (33/1), Corndavon Lad (33/1), Barry Magoo (33/1), Tonquin Valley (100/1)

Verdict

XCELENTE sets a very strong standard and while he'll improve over further in time, the manner of his debut success leaves him hard to beat. It's difficult to see Kidda reversing the form but he's likely to improve considerably for his debut while She Looks Like Fun is an interesting debutante.
