Run reliably of late without winning (three particularly sound races at Wolverhampton) but is 0-7 this year. Did well in the circumstances last time (poorly drawn; raced wide); remains 2lb above last winning mark; finished last previous run here.

Successful twice in the space of five days (attempts hat-trick under 6lb penalty); looks to be thriving (as is the stable). Given a very positive ride after a slow start for both wins; should have a good opportunity to win again; course winner (7f).

Stepped up on anything he had shown previously on his second run for this yard (showed benefit of previous run) to shed his maiden tag over 7f (AW). Run with credit on two AW starts since; now back on turf, evidence suggests this trip stretches him.

Dual C&D winner who gained a deserved win on the AW in January (reward for some sound previous runs). Back to similar sort of form last time over 1m2f still on the AW; now steps back onto turf for the first time since August; type to run well.

Fair maiden who has dropped to a lowly mark having run without much fire of late; did show a little more on his initial run for this yard over C&D. A repeat of that run off the same mark would see him go close although that can't be guaranteed.

Plenty of winning form around here (three-time winner here) but isn't the most reliable; ran poorly last time over C&D on firm ground. Unproven on ground that quick he could once again struggle and others present a stronger case.

Numbers a C&D win amongst her three course wins the latest coming back in September off a basement mark (46). Has won since then on the AW and returned to form last time off this mark; remains to be seen if she can back that run up.

Course winner over 7f late last year off a 1lb lower mark he's not really picked up the baton as yet this season in three AW starts. Pulled up and shaped as if amiss last time that would leave doubts as to his effectiveness here.

Only had the two starts so far in handicaps but neither has impressed with a particularly weak effort being produced last time. Only had one previous start on turf but hard to think that she can trouble these on what she has shown so far.

0-18 is the tally so far with her form looking no better than modest although she hasn't been seen to best effect in her last two runs. Hard to construct a cogent case overall though on the current evidence; others appeal more.

Blinkers worn for the first-time when she was last seen made little difference to her performance. She appears of little account these days, slow away last time and not one to be interested in at all.

Verdict

Most of the attention will be focused on False ID who goes for a very quick hat-trick having won at Wolverhampton and Leicester under today’s rider but he has started slowly twice now and he may not get away with that trick for a third time. Sharp Operator and Ubla are two capable performers at this level but it’s hard to ignore the claims of KAFEEL off a much reduced mark having looked as though he was finding his form again last time and finishing full of running. Aqua Libre is another to look out for although his only run here so far didn’t impress with Waqt having the form to win if it was over 7f – this trip does appear to stretch his suspect stamina though.
