Dubawi colt; half-brother to the 1m2f winner Chronicles; cosy debut winner at Redcar in October (1m, soft) beating the subsequent Chelmsford scorer Fox Leicester (third-placed Barys a French AW Listed winner); obvious chance despite the penalty.

Verdict

A poor turnout numerically, although each of the four declared runners are interesting horses. However, in terms of assessing today's race it's difficult to escape the all too obvious form-based claims of LORD NORTH, with his smooth Redcar win (1m, soft) boosted since by both the runner-up Fox Leicester and the third Barys. Furthermore, given his exceptional 36% strike-rate at Newcastle (32-88), it'll always takes a most intrepid punter to oppose a John Gosden-trainer runner at Gosforth Park.
