Maiden who travelled strongly for much of the way at Windsor last time but didn't find as much as expected upped to new trip. Has another go at the mile off 3lb lower mark and with first time cheekpieces fitted.

First-time blinkers did the trick on final juvenile start when landing 7f Leicester nursery. Slow away on reappearance at Musselburgh and never in the hunt. Eased 1lb and now steps up to mile.

Showed some promise in three starts this winter before another fair effort on handicap debut at Kempton last month. Worth a try at the mile off 2lb lower mark and may well be there or thereabouts.

10-race maiden who kept on well when third over 7f on penultimate start but ran poorly when last of 10 over this trip at Redcar last week. Inconsistent and is hard to get excited about.

Three runs in novice stakes at around 7f so far, shaping as though at least this trip is what she's looking for. Handicap debut here off lowly mark for last year's winning yard that has 18% track strike rate.

Hasn't shown a great deal in four starts, including on handicap debut at Southwell last time when slowly away and always behind. May not have handled Fibresand but has to take a big step forward to figure off 3lb lower mark.

Fourth in Catterick 6f juvenile novice auction last term by some way his best effort from four attempts to date. Half-brother won at up to 9f so some hope he will improve for the extra quarter mile.

George Ridsdale15

Showed little in two starts last term but may have improved over the winter as finished fair fourth of 13 at Thirsk recently when seemingly unfancied. Goes handicapping here off modest mark and may attract some support

Stable companion of Dragons Will Rise. Makes handicap debut having stayed on nicely at Pontefract on final start as a juvenile over 6f. Worth a market check.

27,000 guineas as a yearling; dam half-sister to Group 2 winner The Trader. Never competitive in three starts so far but may do better now going handicapping and represents shrewd handler in fair form at preesent.

Hector's Here17
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: D Swift| T: I Furtado| OR:  56

Little to write home about in first trhee runs but better last time when fourth stepping up to a mile on handicap bow at Newcastle. Gets weight all round and interesting to see if he can step up again back on turf.

Forecasts

Hector's Here (3/1), George Ridsdale (9/2), Remembering You (11/2), Monsieur Piquer (7/1), Jack Randall (8/1), Lincoln Tale (10/1), Uncle Norman (14/1), Burnage Boy (16/1), Alfred The Grey (22/1), Dragons Will Rise (25/1), Tanzerin (25/1)

Verdict

Just a modest event but there are a number of potential improvers stepping up in distance and going handicapping for the first time. Top weight MONSIEUR PIQUER gets a narrow vote having shaped well for a long way last time. The addition of cheekpieces should sharpen him up a bit more. Remembering You could be a danger if building on a fair effort at Kempton last time, and Uncle Norman is the preferred of the two Tim Easterby runners and has a shout if jumping off on terms this time. George Ridsdale and Lincoln Tale are others worth a second glance in a wide-open contest.
  1. Monsieur Piquer
  2. George Ridsdale
  3. Remembering You
