Showed some good handicap form last year despite only winning one before plying his trade at a higher level. Had the run of the race at Doncaster last time (also had fitness edge) over 1m4f (conditions event); returns to handicaps, shortlisted.

Four-time winner when with Mark Johnston including at Group 3 level (in blinkers); made little impact last year though especially in his first two runs for this yard. Now makes his handicap debut with the blinkers going back on which could help.

Three-time winner in France who has proved progressive for this yard and remains unbeaten proving himself over this trip and further. Showed an excellent attitude to pick up his first GB turf victory at Thirsk last time; up another 5lb.

All his three wins here have come over shorter (1m2f) and this trip may just stretch him although he has slipped back below his last winning mark. Ran well enough last time over his usual trip without looking as though he was going to win soon.

15/2
Dual C&D winner who took two handicaps last year (looks best when allowed to stride on); needed the run last time at Pontefract behind a winning stablemate over 1m2f. Cheekpieces worn for his last five wind back on; should go well back up in trip.

Course winner who already has her season well underway having won on the AW over this trip. Didn't quite get the ideal circumstances last time (ran wide; weak gallop); up in grade but deserves to take her chance.

Verdict

An intriguing little contest and it won’t be a surprise to see Mukhayyam take a step forward from his comeback run especially as he dons the cheekpieces again which seem vital for a winning effort. King’s Advice seeks a five-timer and that could be possible although he’ll need to find a little more progress raised another 5lb for his winning spree. CROWNED EAGLE returns to handicaps having shown some good form at this level and this classy individual looks the one to keep onside in this. Frankuus needs the headgear to spark a revival as he makes a belated handicap debut.
