Form has been modest enough in bumpers/novice hurdles but looks to have been brought along gently with a view to going into handicaps. May need a little more emphasis of stamina; not neglected for a yard with a good record here.

Lightly-raced since scoring over 2m in a maiden hurdle at Kelso back in late 2017; had just three runs failing to complete in two of them (one on chase debut). Showed he retains ability last time out (displayed some temperament); races off the pace.

Bounced back from a poor run on his penultimate start when taking the runner-up slot over 3m here on the first day of the meeting. Suited by the less testing conditions on that occasion; would not want any of the forecast rain; headgear now added.

Placed on both his bumper starts he's yet to score over hurdles appearing to be struggling of late off what still looks a stiff mark. Back into handicaps after being tried again in novice company last time; returns from wind surgery.

Starting to look well handicapped on the basis of his last win but doesn't look like taking advantage on the basis of his last run (poor fourth at Ayr). Visor now joins the usual tongue-tie in a bid to provide some spark; would appreciate some rain.

Showed some ability in bumpers/novice hurdles (from a smart jumping family) and looked as though he would make a step forward off a reasonable mark on handicap debut. Disappointed though (took a keen hold); could well do better in time.

Yet to fire over hurdles this season having been tried over various trips; struggled badly last time. Now had a break which could refresh but hardly one to be pinning any great hopes on given his recent exploits on the course.

Ran better than his final position would suggest over 3m here earlier in the week (jockey banned for easing him down). Still looks well handicapped over hurdles (based on his chase form) for a yard that are always respected with GB runners.

First-time cheekpieces appeared to eke out a little improvement when he was third at Musselburgh last time although the bare form amounts to little. That was his best run for this yard and he needs to show that he can back start up.

Wild Samb120
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-11| J: Bruce Lynn(7)| T: I Jardine| OR:  90

0-17 over hurdles is hardly a bet compelling statistic although he's now with a yard that are good at rejuvenating lost causes. First-time cheekpieces appear to have brought about some progress last time; blinkers now tried first-time.

His Irish form was modest on various ground and over a variety of trips and it's hard to say that his current yard have really got to grips with him. May well have needed the run last time but hard to place him amongst the leading lights.

A repetition of his two runner-up efforts when trained in Ireland would give him a chance in this but those have looked a long way away of late. Offered little encouragement last time even with headgear (retained); can only be watched at present.

Out For Justice13
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Katy Price| OR:  89| BF

Consistent sort since his wind op returning three seconds in a row the most recent on his chasing debut. Now returned to hurdles off a 2lb higher mark he entitled to progress again; not out of this by any stretch of the imagination.

Angel's Envy268
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: C O'Farrell| T: I Jardine| OR:  81WS

Not seen since last summer she returns to a course where she's run her last three races (first run since a wind op). Tried over a variety of trips (not sure what her ideal distance is); from a very capable yard, positive market vibes should be noted.

Permission Granted161

From a yard that has really only just got going again he returns after a similar break having had wind surgery. Winning cause suffered from some sloppy jumps when last seen (not for the first time); others persuade more.

Finally opened his timber account in first-time cheekpieces over jumps back in November at Musselburgh (2m, good). Struggled to match that form since although not disgraced in his hurdling starts; runs from 3lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

Given the Irish domination in handicap hurdles at the meeting so far it won’t be a surprise to see this prize heading the same way despite the fact the Emerald Isle only have two contenders. Both Load Up Time and Allduckornodinner have already run here this week and both should be in the mix again although the former wouldn’t want any of the forecast rain. OUT FOR JUSTICE has proved very consistent of late and deserves to get his head in front based on how he’s performed of late with his small stable going well. Both the Iain Jardine runners should be watched in the betting with the duo of Wild Sam and Angel’s Envy capable of turning their form around.
  1. Out For Justice
  2. Load Up Time
  3. Angel's Envy
