Off the mark on first run as a three-year-old when landing a novice event at Newcastle, but had to settle for the runner-up spot in his first handicap at Redcar earlier this month. No easy task off 2lb higher.
Winner and placed twice as a juvenile over 1m when trained by Luca Cumani last season. Has joined another top yard and is of interest on handicap debut with step up in trip likely to suit.
Made his three-year-old bow a winning one when scoring decisively at Windsor earlier this month. Feasibly treated on first start in handicap company.
Fair juvenile who won a novice event over 6f at Ayr and 1m nursery at Thirsk. He is 9lb higher than for the latter success and has stamina to prove as he makes his reappearance.
Good deal of promise as a juvenile and, after being gelded over the winter, he was rather disappointing on his return to action over this C&D last month. Too early to write off and blinkers are fitted for the first time.
Trained by John Gosden last season when he ended his campaign with victory in a Wolverhampton nursery. The cheekpieces he wore on that occasion are removed as he makes his debut/seasonal reappearance for new stable after being gelded.
Two promising efforts as a juvenile and again did little wrong when finishing third of eight, not beaten too far, over 1m on return to action at Lingfield last month. Handicap debut and good back-up for the stable's Days Of Glory.
Landed a Kempton novice contest in the autumn and was a creditable third of 13 back at that venue on final start of last season. Handicap debut after his winter break and does not look too harshly treated.
Not disgraced in three starts as a two-year-old, but was gelded and did not really build on those efforts on return at Newcastle last month. Much more needed on handicap debut.
Has had plenty of experienced, particularly on the AW, and most recent effort saw him finish second of six off this mark at Chelmsford. Exposed and looks vulnerable to potential improvers.
Forecasts
Forest Of Dean (7/4), Days Of Glory (7/2), Felix (4/1), Ritchie Valens (11/1), Venedegar (12/1), Spencers Son (16/1), Billy No Mates (20/1), Cormier (20/1), War Eagle (25/1), Whenapoet (33/1)
Days Of Glory and Ritchie Valens give their trainer a strong hand, while top-weight Forest Of Dean is sure to attract support. However, the vote goes to FELIX, who boasted decent form as a juvenile and promises to be suited by this step up in trip. Fellow handicap debutant Spencers Son is interesting, while Venedegar has ability and may be helped by first-time blinkers.
- Felix
- Days Of Glory
- Forest Of Dean
