Impressed when making a winning debut at Beverley last September but blotted his copy book with a poor effort at Lingfield when last seen. Stable in much better form now and likely there's more to come. Can be a player here.
Won over 1m2f at Goodwood when last seen; building on a respectable effort on his racecourse debut in September. More can be expected. Another to bear in mind.
Cost just 5,000 gns at the Newmarket sales in October and needs to step up dramatically on debut run when trained in Ireland. Best watched.
Modest from in two starts so far and plenty to prove now he's upped in trip and tackling a new surface.
Comes here on the back of his best effort so far when second on the Fibersand at Southwell last month; also reached a reasonable level on turf but is still a maiden after seven starts. Needs another step forward.
Well beaten in a bumper and two outings on the AW; hard to recommend on that evidence.
Won twice over hurdles and respected on the pick of his efforts (form plateaued when he finished no better than mid division in the conditional riders race at Cheltenham last month). Plenty to prove back on the Flat over a trip short of his best.
Bred to be effective around this sort of trip but not seen out since his debut run at Leicester in May of last year. Open to improvement and worth a betting check.
Finished tailed off in a bumper at Newcastle last month but will be better suited to this sort of trip. Has a likeable pedigree but the yard appear to have a better chance with Charles Kingsley this time.
A previous winner over hurdles but makes limited appeal over this sort of distance on his AW debut.
Forecasts
Setting Sail (10/11), Motaraabet (11/4), Heart Of Soul (7/2), Charles Kingsley (7/1), Le Musee (16/1), Captain Scott (40/1), Och Aye (50/1), Barrier Reef (66/1), Lawyersgunsn'money (80/1), Samson's Reach (80/1)
Mark Johnston has a couple of interesting contenders on show but CHARLES KINGSLEY, who impressed when winning on hid debut, makes the most appeal this time. Setting Sail also knows what to do to get his head in front on the line and respected as a threat, while Motaraabet has plenty of scope and is another to bear in mind.
- Charles Kingsley
- Setting Sail
- Motaraabet
