Switched stables three times since last December and struggling to find his form at present. Best watched on these terms.

Won over C&D twice in January and better suited to this surface than he was at Windsor last time; needs to bounce back from a poor run but the return to one of his favourite courses can be a big help.

Best form has been posted at Chelmsford but does have experience of this course. That said, he does need to improve significantly on his last couple of starts here though.

Been off since October; tried in headgear the last two times he raced but the application made no difference. The gelding now has a good deal to prove.

Never won on the AW and last turf win was in July 2016; has gone well here before but not noted for consistency. First run since last November and best watched.

Set to race from 21lb below his last winning mark so reasonable to suggest he's well treated just now. Wasn't beaten far last time out and, with a 5lb claimer in the plate, can go close on again here.

Weighted to reverse recent Chelmsford form with Kyullkey and capable of laying up with the early pace if he runs his usual race. Not the most consistent but is a previous C&D winner, so can make the frame if he's in a determine frame of mind again.

Won the race in stewards room last time out and has to merit consideration from just a 2lb higher mark. Will do well to uphold the form with Zipedeedodah though.

One career win to her name yet to taste success on the AW. The mare is comparatively lightly raced on an artificial surface but she's been hard to win with and is probably best watched on her seasonal bow.

Has won twice at other AW course but has also been placed over C&D before now; finished just behind Foxy Boy here in January but disappointed last time. Others more convincing.

Forecasts

Atyaaf (7/2), Red Invader (4/1), Kyllukey (4/1), Raffle King (9/2), Bahango (7/1), Zipedeedodah (10/1), Foxy Boy (10/1), Captain Ryan (12/1), Fuel Injection (20/1), John Joiner (25/1), Glyder (33/1)

Verdict

The fitting of cheekpieces can help CAPTAIN RYAN get back to winning ways and he's fancied to relish the return to Dustall Park, which has already been a happy hunting ground for the gelding. Zipedeedodah and Kyllukey are closely matched following their encounter at Chelmsford 11 days ago; with the former appealing most at the weights on this occasion. Bahango is suggested as the best of the rest.
  1. Captain Ryan
  2. Zipedeedodah
  3. Kyllukey
