Yard has healthy level stakes profit at this track and this winner of 2-14 over timber makes his chasing debut here. Trip no problem but has his share of weight and market may indicate how much is expected of him.

Consistent at modest level over timber and has two wins to his name in that sphere. First start over fences so ability to handle larger obstacles has to be taken on trust. Yard has 14% strike rate here.

Big Chip And Pin14
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Christian Williams| OR:  97
9/4
One of the lesser exposed in this event and was decent runner-up in Chepstow novices h'cap hurdle last time. Looks type to do better over fences and yard currently in good form.

The Majort52
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: Brendan Powell| T: K Woollacott| OR:  90

Won twice on Flat at 1m2f for Michael Bell but has been mostly disappointing in 11 starts since going over obstacles. Not obviously bred to be a chaser so on balance others are preferred on

Over a year since Plumpton 2m h'cap hurdle win on heavy ground and has been on the slides since then dropping 23lb. Only previous chase came here nearly four years ago and belatedly returns to this sphere with plenty to prove.

Won Exeter h'cap chase on third start over fences last month and only just failed to follow up there last time off 2lb higher mark. Further 4lb raise makes life tough but is in form and may not be far away once again.

The Boola Beeh75
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-7| J: Tom Buckley(7)| T: N J Hawke| OR:  79WS
9/2
Has shown little in 10 starts under Rules over both hurdles and fences and returns now from wind surgery. Op will have to have worked the oracle for her to figure in the finish here.

35-race maiden who has run only once in the last five years when tailed off in novice hurdle here in 2017. 3lb out of the handicap and fitness amajor doubt after another very lengthy lay-off.

Forecasts

Big Chip And Pin (9/4), Lizzie Langton (5/2), Ericas Lad (11/4), The Boola Bee (9/2), Mr Lando (9/2), Iniesta (7/1), Old Harry Rocks (14/1), The Major (25/1), Roybuoy (100/1)

Verdict

No world-beaters here and a number of these are jumping fences in public for the first time. Although she drops back in trip, LILLIE LANGTON has shown enough over fences to suggests she should still play a major role and could draw errors out of less experienced rivals. Old Harry Rocks is a danger if taking to chasing as he has more scope than most of the others, and Big Chip And Pin also has claims on recent efforts. Iniesta and Ericas Lad are others to conisder in a trappy heat.
  1. Lizzie Langton
  2. Old Harry Rocks
  3. Iniesta
