Gained success at Windsor in September after four seconds (first past the post once) before an excellent second in sales race at Doncaster. Well held in Horris Hill Stakes behind Mohaather when last seen, and vulnerable on return.
Won the second of two starts as a 2-y-o at Kempton, and improved again when making all at Doncaster last time by ½L from Franz Kafka. Had the run of the race there, but still entitled to progress further.
By War Front out of Prestige Stakes winner Theysken's Theory. Justified favouritism in a 7f novice at Newcastle in December, and this Guineas and Dante entry is open to considerable improvement.
Won a 7f novice at Kempton last year, and ahead of Dirty Rascal when third to Mohaather in the Horris Hill at Newbury in October. Should make a better 3-y-o, and one to consider on reappearance for yard among the winners.
Showed ability despite weak finishes on first two starts, and got his head in front at Chelmsford in November. Stiff task when well held there on return, and this doesn't look much easier.
Won a Maisons-Laffitte maiden on 2-y-o debut, but unable to build on that form in three subsequent starts. Gelded since last seen, and may yet do better, but facing a stiff task here.
A winner over this trip at Newcastle, but his best form has come when third at Ffos Las and Wolverhampton over 1m/1m½f, and others more appealing on balance.
Forecasts
Almashriq (11/8), Fox Champion (5/2), Almufti (4/1), Dirty Rascal (10/1), Havana Rocket (20/1), Double Kodiac (25/1), Battle Of Waterloo (100/1)
Newcastle winner ALMASHRIQ has something to find in form terms, but is being brought along in typical fashion by his shrewd handler, and entries in the Dante and 2000 Guineas show the regard in which he's held. He's expected to find the requisite improvement to deal with Horris Hill third Almufti and Doncaster winner Fox Champion .
