Gelded son of Camelot bought for €110,000 at the sales as a yearling. Disappointed on two career starts to date. First time blinkers need to bring about significant improvement here.
Son of Ask out of a modest 2m hurdle winner. 11th of 17 beaten 23L on belated Flat debut at Gowran Park earlier this month. Others look open to more improvement.
Not disgraced in a couple of juvenile displays for trainer Marco Botti when last seen over two years ago. Will be up against it here.
Well held in a couple of dismal efforts towards the end of last season finishing down the field on each occasion. Makes little appeal lining up in this company.
Helmet colt, cost 26,000 gns as a foal and €140,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to two winners including a Listed winner over a similar trip. Well beaten in two career starts to date including a 15½L defeat when last seen in October.
Mastercraftsman colt that cost 32,000 gns as a foal and rose to 50,000 gns as a yearling. Has disappointed connections in a couple of career starts to date. Has a bit to prove at present.
Frozen Power gelding out of a Revoque mare. Three race mare on the AW at Dundalk. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here on turf debut.
Gelding by Compton Place out of a Rock Of Gibraltar mare. Closely related to smart 1m winner Captain Cat out of winning close relative of Irish 2000 Guineas winner Turtle Island. Looks a long term prospect.
Gelded son of Declaration Of War out of a Montjeu mare. Plenty to take out of his two runs last season, hitting the frame in big runner fields. Rates a very interesting contender in this contest.
Fast Company filly has produced a couple of disappointing starts to date including when finishing last of eight on seasonal debut last month. First time blinkers doubtful to bring about the required amount of progress needed to play a role here.
Filly by Big Bad Bob out of a Mujadil mare. Cost €1,000 as a yearling and needs to improve dramatically on her last of eight beaten 33L on debut at Dundalk in February.
Casamento filly, cost 15,000 gns as a foal and 5,000 gns as a yearling. Eighth of 17 beaten 17L behind Johnny Delta on belated Flat debut at Gowran Park earlier this month. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.
Not seen on the level since November since finishing 13th of 15 beaten 31L at Naas over 1m4f. Beaten 38L in a Cork maiden hurdle last month. Entitled to make the shortlist in this company.
Forecasts
War Diary (4/7), Castle Chase (5/1), Silvretta Schwarz (8/1), Chef Afef (10/1), Papal Count (20/1), Cosmic Boy (20/1), Khafaaq (25/1), Algo Rhythm (25/1), Miss Cassy (33/1), Hit The Rocks (50/1), Make A Story (100/1), Pointsevenk (100/1), The Tubinator (100/1)
The potentially exciting WAR DIARY looked open to plenty of improvement following a couple of promising starts towards the end of last season and the four-year-old can get off the mark on seasonal debut here. The 72-rated Silvretta Schwarz can give the selection the most to think about, while Castle Chase looks the best of the rest.
