Fibresand debutant (sire 0-6 here) who had excuses when running poorly last time (slow away, raced freely). Needs a strongly run race to be seen at her best though and another slow start would put her at a disadvantage here; care needed on balance.

Three-time course winner (3-15); all the wins coming at much shorter (1m or less). Operating way below his best at the moment and trying this distance on any surface for the first time; furthest he's been 1m3f (0-5 beyond 1m2f); best watched.

Never really involved here last time on his GB/stable debut going with little fluency in a 2m handicap; now steps down 4f in trip. Yet to win a race although may be more at home over this trip; not one to be too interested in as yet.

Fair handicapper at his best although it's hard to say he's been at that level since returning from a six month break. Not seen out this year; makes his stable/Fibresand debut here having been sold for £3,000 in January; cheekpieces on first-time.

First time on Fibresand having not been seen out this year after a reasonable 2018 season; one win to his name (Carlisle 1m1f, soft). Looked in good heart when last seen; handicapper could be in control though off this mark; likes to dominate.

Shown very little since joining this yard particularly on her two starts on this surface (may have needed the run last time). Without headgear again this time; little expected on what she's shown so far but is edging down the weights.

Another newcomer to Fibresand she's really only got one worthwhile piece of form to her name, a second on handicap debut over 1m4f last year. Underachieved since the including on her seasonal debut; new headgear combination tried now.

Lightly-raced sort for a yard who are very adept here; run here last time proving inconclusive in a better grade over 1m3f (looked like she needed further). This is more her level (runs off proper mark); extra furlong should suit, not ruled out.

Only has a Brighton selling handicap win to his name but has run well twice on Fibresand earlier in the year (placed both times). Travelled well in his two starts here at up to 1m6f, still looked in good form last time at Kempton; shortlisted.

Seen mainly over hurdles of late (limited outings) and finished well held on his two outings for this yard, his latest start on Fibresand over 1m being very poor. Still yet to win a race under either code and makes limited appeal in this contest.

Took advantage of a basement mark to score out of the blue over C&D (had run well enough here before) on her penultimate start by 5L. Ran respectably returned here last time but over 7f up in grade; will be better returned to this trip.

Handicap/Fibresand newcomer who so far has shown only very poor form in minor/maiden events at up to 1m4f. Hard to make a case on form with the sire statistics suggesting a struggle on this particular surface.

Failed to impress on his sole previous visit here running below-par over 2f further. Has run with credit twice since at up to 1m4f when trying to make all both times at Kempton (runner-up twice); previous form here hampers enthusiasm for him.

Age: 7|  Weight: 8-9| J: Cam Hardie| T: B Ellison| OR:  48

Ran his best race for this yard off the back of a break and a wind op over 1m here last time keeping on well to finish second. Chance on that form although he is 0-25 on the AW with a record at further than 1m2f that reads 0-9, place chance at best.

Forecasts

Motahassen (11/4), Contingency Fee (11/2), Quila Saeda (7/1), Thecornishbarron (8/1), Going Native (8/1), Schindlers Ark (8/1), Place Des Vosges (10/1), Panatos (14/1), Mundersfield (14/1), Red Touch (25/1), Zahraani (33/1), Intermodal (33/1), Let's Be Happy (50/1), Four Mile Beach (150/1)

Verdict

Solid options look in fairly short supply in the middle distance opener with not an awful lot of Fibresand experience on display. CONTINGENCY FEE is hardly a serial winner but he has run well twice here looking suited by the surface and a return here could well see him record a deserved win. Going Native looks the main danger having won here before over C&D and run well last time over at trip that proved far too short for him. Quila Saeda is still very much the unknown quantity but this looks her grade and trip with her stable always to be respected with their runners here. Motahassen and Thecornishbarron are two others with chances of hitting the frame.
  1. Contingency Fee
  2. Going Native
  3. Quila Saeda
