Scored on the Polytrack (7f) as a juvenile and went very close back over the Lingfield C&D on his recent handicap debut, from today's mark. Decent draw, and looks a major player.
Respectable efforts as a juvenile and came good when stepped up to 7f on handicap debut at Kempton (AW) last month, winning with something in hand. Up 8lb for that, but open to improvement. Claims.
Landed a 6f Wolverhampton novice event in August. Returned from a winter break with an encouraging 2L second at Lingfield (7f, AW) last month. No surprise to see him go close from a good draw.
Produced four very consistent efforts for Richard Fahey last season, winning at Wolverhampton (6f, AW) on the third of those. Changed hands since, and now makes debut for this stable dropped 1lb. Improvement needed, but he is open to that.
Won a 6f Ripon novice contest (good to firm) last May. Was then tailed off at Royal Ascot and, although his reappearance was a step back in the right direction, he arrives with a bit to prove.
Has the profile of a steady improver, and after going close twice on testing ground last season, he reappeared to win narrowly at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) recently. 3lb rise looks fair, and from a decent draw he should again be thereabouts.
0-8, but a short head second to City Tour at Musselburgh recently and is now 1lb better off with that reopposing rival. Should be in the mix once again.
Soft ground Thirsk winner (7f) last August, when 4lb lower and has made the frame from similar marks to this since. Gelded since last seen in October and can't be ruled out, though needs to prove himself on fast ground.
Improved with each run last season to win at the fourth attempt at Redcar (7f, good to firm) in September. Respectable effort on his reappearance at Musselburgh recently, and has each-way claims from this mark if building on that.
5f debut winner here (good to firm) last May. Has not yet gone on from there. Plumb draw today, but needs a lot more than she showed in nurseries towards the end of last season.
Forecasts
Attainment (7/4), City Tour (11/4), Lightning Attack (5/1), Oloroso (6/1), Pacino (16/1), Jackamundo (16/1), Axe Axelrod (20/1), Stronsay (25/1), Azor Ahai (33/1), Pearl Of Qatar (33/1)
A competitive heat, with City Tour and Lightning Attack weighted to finish close together again, Pacino and Jackamundo others with claims, and Oloroso a major player after an authoritative win last time. However, ATTAINMENT made a promising return to action at Lingfield, and from a decent draw, he can step up to take this.
- Attainment
- Oloroso
- Lightning Attack
