Won twice early last season but largely disappointed subsequently. May do better this year and the yard usually have them ready to go first time up; not without each-way hope if the rain stays away.

A remarkable 150/1 winner on her second start at Chelmsford last year. That form done no favours subsequently and well beaten back at that course when missing the break last time so looks vulnerable on handicap/turf debut here.

Beautifully bred sort but showed very little in three starts towards the back end of last season. Needs to leave that form behind on handicap debut here.

Ran to a similar level in three starts last year. Seemingly didn't have to pace for 6f and didn't stay 1m2f in a Newmarket maiden last time so this trip could be about right for him. Market likely to be the best guide on handicap debut.

Still a maiden after eight starts and best effort came when benefiting from a strong gallop at Newcastle in December. Well beaten in handicap subsequently though and may need more relief from the assessor.

A maiden after five starts and while he's shaped okay in a couple of starts in handicap company, he needs to improve to make his mark in this field. Wide draw no help here.

Well bred sort who showed some promise in three starts as a juvenile, despite never finishing in the money. May do better as a three-year-old here and on a nice mark for handicap debut.

Looked in need of the experience on his first couple of starts but not disgraced at Newcastle latest when sixth of 14. Interesting contender on handicap debut stepped up in trip in a first-time hood.

Showed nothing on debut and can be forgiven his run at Chester where the saddle slipped. Running out of excuses after his disappointment at Chelmsford last time though and now tries first-time hood and tongue-tie.

Showed nothing in three starts as a juvenile, too keen on his latest start at Redcar. The longer trip may help but hard to fancy on all known form.

Showed ability on his debut but has failed to deliver on that in three starts since. May do better this year and both the step up in trip and quick ground look in his favour here.

Forecasts

High Contrast (7/2), Seven For A Pound (5/1), Conundrum (11/2), Curfewed (11/2), Gennaro (8/1), George Mallory (8/1), Beaufort (8/1), Diviner (10/1), Sarasota Star (14/1), Sdh Dream Team (16/1), Straitouttacompton (16/1), The Meter (25/1), Highwaygrey (66/1)

Verdict

A few of these make their handicap debut and SEVEN FOR A POUND may be the one to side with. He's bred to do better as a three-year-old and he showed bits of ability as a juvenile. Sdh Dream Team has a nice low weight on his return while Beaufort is a contender if he handles the forecast quicker conditions.
