Prominent in the betting on all three starts since joining Olly Murphy and hasn't really looked like justifying it. Eased in grade and respected here however.

21-race maiden under Rules came within 1¼L of a first success when runner-up over C&D in January. Races from 4lb higher but travelled sweetly in that contest and worth a close look.

Proved rather a disappointment since winning over hurdles and fences in 2017, fleeting glances this term of ability still lurking and is now down to an attractive mark if putting it together.

Won two 3m handicap chases at Bangor last April/May and was respectable fourth over fences at Market Rasen on November reappearance. Given a pipe-opener over timber at Southwell last month, so not ruled out.

Mare got her first success at the 15th attempt (fourth over fences) when scoring at Fakenham (2m5f, good) early last month. Looked destined for minor money under penalty back there since when rival departed at the last. Mark unchanged here.

Ended a long losing sequence when making most of the running to score decisively over this C&D last month, defying odds of 33-1. Wouldn't be the most obvious contender to follow up from 7lb higher mark.

Long-standing maiden under rules, has only had four goes over fences. Best of those came in C&D novice handicap in December (second of six); not produced anything similar since so really needs to perk up back around this place.

No form to speak of under rules, finished tailed off on chase bow over C&D early last month (started 150-1 in four-runner race) and no threat in easier contest at Sedgefield (3m2f, good) since when sporting first-time cheekpieces (retained here).

Nothing in 11-race rules career to warrant suggestion he'll play leading role. Well beaten on chase bow over C&D in novice company in January and no improvement in two runs since undergoing wind surgery.

Forecasts

Stonebrigg Legend (10/3), Eaton Miller (4/1), Vaxalco (4/1), Fight Commander (4/1), Arthur's Reuben (8/1), Kilmoganny (10/1), Brown Bear (10/1), Heavenly Promise (12/1), The Jugopolist (14/1), Fenjack (33/1), Cockney Seagull (33/1)

Verdict

Fight Commander hasn't been able to justify market prominence in three runs so far for trainer Olly Murphy, though he does ease in grade now and isn't written off. Long-standing maiden VAXALCO put in an improved effort over C&D last time, travelling well and giving best only to a resurgent rival. A reproduction of that effort might be good enough here. Last time out C&D winner The Jugopolist is no certainty to be in the same mood, with the mare Stonebrigg Legend a more reliable sort.
