Much his best recent effort when a close second over C&D in February when wearing a first-time visor. The headgear has not had such a beneficial effect in two starts since, however, and he remains a maiden.

Went down narrowly when third in a C&D handicap in August, and while she's not been so good since, this represents an easier task, and she can go well if escaping a tricky draw.

Stepped up on earlier efforts this year when fourth of 13 to Harry Callahan in a similar even at Kempton, and while that form still needs to be improved upon, she may well do better now fitted with a visor.

Finished 2018 badly out of sorts, but has fallen in the weights as a result, and this C&D winner would go close if finding the best of her form from last year.

Had been struggling for John O'Shea, but immediately showed signs of a revival for his new yard when second of 10 to La Cumparsita in a C&D handicap on penultimate start, and duly got back to winning ways here yesterday. Hard to beat.

Not really firing on all cylinders at the moment, and while he's not been disgraced on his last couple of starts, he needs to do better to be winning races at any level.

Previous C&D winner who's last success came here over 7f in December.. Back in his shell since, and hard to know what to expect after latest moderate effort.

Disappointing sort who failed to score for Patrick Chamings. More promise on penultimate start, but then failed to build on that last time, and looks one to have reservations about.

Ran about as well as he ever has when sixth of 11 to Sir Gnet in a 1m2f handicap at Lingfield last time, racing off a basement mark in a weak handicap, and therein lies the problem.

Won at Leicester and Catterick last year, but in the doldrums at present, and needs to show more positive signs before he can be backed.

Only one win in 36 starts, but has bits of solid form, and did well to finish second at Kempton last time having pulled hard throughout. Should be competitive, although he's not one for maximum faith when the chips are down.

Still a maiden, and form is patchy, but back in the groove when 3L second of 11 to Compass Point in a C&D handicap last time. Not certain to build on that, but claims if she does,

A very useful performer in his younger days, but now a shadow of his former self, and makes only limited appeal, even at this lowly level. Has left Olly Williams since latest start.

Forecasts

Imperial Act (10/3), Red Cossack (7/2), Clement (4/1), Tha'ir (7/1), Captain Kissinger (12/1), Clary (12/1), Cash N Carrie (12/1), Casey Banter (16/1), Seaquinn (16/1), Nicky Baby (25/1), Dukes Meadow (25/1), Ertidaad (33/1), Plucky Dip (40/1)

Verdict

CLEMENT hinted strongly at a revival when second here, and built on that when scoring at Lingfield yesterday, and he will be hard to beat if that represents the expected watershed for his new yard. In his absence, Cash N Carrie might get the job done in a first-time visor, while Clary is a rare raider for Alistair Whillans, and is a player on the pick of last year's form.
