Yet to add to too early successes back in 2015, although remains unexposed on the AW. Went close with a running on second over 5f here latest and better suited by this distance. Likely to be involved.

In great form winning three of his last four and still on a feasible mark despite 5lb penalty. Won going away over 5f here latest and versatile regarding distance. Likely to go close again.

Lightly-raced sort who already has a course win to his name over 5f (June 2017). Well-backed favourite when headed late over this C&D in February and well drawn again. Should have more to offer and go close.

Quite high in the weights at present and 2lb higher than success at Southwell in January. Below that up in class next time but back down in grade here. Others better handicapped but can be competitive.

C&D winner off 1lb lower three starts back before disappointing over 7f and 5f in subsequent runs. Proving inconsistent but is much better suited by this distance so a better run can't be ruled out.

Former C&D winner returns from an absence following a turf success in October. Can go well fresh but vulnerable off a high mark now and best form seems to come at Catterick nowadays.

All eight wins have come on the AW but yet to score at this track and 4lb higher than last win. Didn't get the run of the race latest and better judged on his close second to Kupa River previously. Others better handicapped but can go well.

Scored back-to-back selling wins at this track over 7f and this distance before a narrow second to Zapper Cass at Chelmsford. Gets a 1lb pull and remains in fine form so another good run on the cards.

Revitalised since rejoining his former trainer. Twice a winner here and 6lb higher than when scoring over this C&D in February. Slightly below that level when upped in class the last twice but still shaping with credit. Can be competitive again.

Gained a fourth win at this track and a third over this C&D last month and ran to a similar level again when third off this 3lb higher mark. Well drawn but this is step up in class and all his recent winning form has been in a lower grade.

Forecasts

Followthesteps (9/4), Zapper Cass (7/2), Venturous (4/1), Kupa River (5/1), Steelriver (7/1), The Groove (12/1), Aguerooo (14/1), Peachey Carnehan (14/1), The Establishment (18/1), Bellevarde (22/1), Spirit Of Wedza (50/1)

Verdict

A really competitive race for the grade where all hold realistic claims. The addition of cheekpieces can help Followthesteps and he's still open to plenty of improvement following a close-up effort behind The Establishment. The latter seems ideally suited by this distance and is likely to return to form following two subsequent runs over different trips. ZAPPER CASS is flying at present and following a going away win over shorter here, can continue his run of form over arguably his best distance.
