Holding his form under both codes and looks a likely candidate to cut out the early running. Just 2lb above his last winning mark but still a stiff test under top weight. (Course debut.)
Goes well here and wasn't beaten too far on his only previous try over this trip. 11lb below his last winning mark, so very feasible chance of getting back to winning ways of his stamina holds out.
Won five times on the 'White Turf' at St Moritz but also won over a mile at this course; and has won over further, so the trip is not too much of an issue. He's up in class though and has more to do after finding little at Kempton (1m4f) last time.
Won on turf from a 7lb lower mark but is still a maiden on the AW and has to prove her fitness on her first run since last November. May be sharper for the outing.
Stays well but has a bit to prove after a failing to make any sort of impact on his return from a long absence when last of 10 here in March. Prime candidate to bounce too.
Never won beyond a mile and is on a long losing run at present; hard to recommend despite being on an attractive mark in comparison to the best of his old form.
Goes well here and registered an overdue second career success over C&D last month. Just 3lb higher and seems to be enjoying himself at his new yard. Worth a betting check at least.
Forecasts
Emenem (13/8), Sotomayor (3/1), Saryshagann (10/3), Berrahri (15/2), Tiar Na Nog (12/1), Noble Peace (14/1), Coorg (50/1)
Doubts can be cast about all of these but SOTOMAYOR seems to have been revitalised by his switch to a new yard and, given that both his previous wins have come over C&D, the gelding has a solid chance of extending the haul from just a 3lb higher mark that for last month's smooth success. Saryshann is another who got back to winning ways last time and has to merit consideration in weak race like this; Emenem is another who goes well at this course and, as he's well handicapped, would be dangerous to underestimate. Berrahi is up in class here and needs a lot to go his way if he's going to rise to the challenge.
- Sotomayor
- Saryshagann
- Emenem
