Winner on bumper debut at Punchestown (for Liz Doyle), highly tried on debut for this yard at Ascot but very disappointing all the same (finished last) but has had a wind op and gets a tongue tie here, so maybe had an excuse. Chance in a weak event.

Well beaten in two hurdles starts and won't be of any great interest until going into handicap after today.

Runner-up in a point-to-point last October but hasn't shown a lot in two bumpers and a hurdles start so far. Likely to need further and best watched here.

Wasn't up to much in point-to-points and has shown very little so far; addition of the tongue-tie today needs to have a major effect.

Well down the field in three novice hurdle starts but they have been much better races than this and his fifth to Winston C here in January is better than it looks, and has worked out well. Not dismissed in a weak looking event.

Will find this easier than a few of the handicaps he's been tackling this season but he's regressive and an early unseat at Taunton last time is hardly helping his cause. Place chances but not one to fully trust.
Shown next to nothing in two starts and although he has had a wind operation since last being seen, makes next to no appeal here.

Second to Pentland Hills at Plumpton two starts ago makes him the one to beat here after the winner went on to take the Triumph Hurdle, outclassed in the Supreme Novices last time but this looks a golden opportunity to get off the mark.

Has run to a similar level in three bumpers, showing enough to think he can pick up a race somewhere down the line but maybe best watched on hurdles debut today.

Tailed off in all three starts and hard to take any positives from any of them. Can't be entertained as the winner.

Forecasts

The Flying Sofa (1/3), Chapmanshype (5/1), Shillingsworth (5/1), Rowley Park (10/1), Jacamar (33/1), Glengar (33/1), Shutscombe Hill (40/1), Not Going Out (66/1), Zambino (100/1), Clondaw Whisper (150/1), Monda's Legacy (200/1)

Verdict

The Flying Sofa has been given another great chance to finally get off the mark and on form there's no question he's the one to beat, but equally he can hardly be said to be progressing and taking a short price about him winning makes little appeal. With Shillngsworth another going nowhere quickly at present, the suggestion is an e/w bet on ROWLEY PARK, who has taken on a few tough tasks and has run a bit better than his form figures suggest. He can hit the frame at worst if he takes another step forward. Chapmanshype performed poorly at Ascot but a wind operation may well give a clue as to what the issue was. He could do better here.
