Big Bad Bob colt out of a Duke Of Marmalade mare. Cost £1,500 as a yearling and best watched on debut for yard not known for newcomers.

Colt by New Approach out of a Monsun gelding was slowly into stride and 11th of 15 on debut last October. Sort to improve in time but this likely too soon.

Highly promising debut when 5L fifth of 12 behind Group One winner Magna Grecia but failed to build on that next when eighth of 20 here. Should improve this year according to pedigree but place likely best possible here.

3,000 gns son of Sir Prancelot was down the field on debut at Naas last November. Only interesting thing here is a flat ride for top jumps jockey Rachael Blackmore.

Probably boasts the best form on offer here based on two seconds in as many starts at the back end of 2018, both at Dundalk. No reason turf won't be at least as suitable so has strong and obvious claims here.

Horse silk

Galileo colt that has a wonderful mix of speed and stamina in his pedigree; dam was a Group 1 winning sprinter in Australia. Slow away and quite green on debut last July but suspect much better soon although Moore prefers King Pellinor.

85,000gns F; fifth foal; half-brother to French 1m-8.5f winner Akemi (inc at 2/AW/Listed) and 1m winner Dance On The Hill; dam French Listed-placed 7.6f/1m winner. Stable first string according to jockey booking so must be respected.

Gelding by Mukhadram beat just one home on recent debut at Dundalk so can only be watched here.

Horse silk

Well beaten at a big price on debut at Gowran Park last October and couldn't so much better on return at Dundalk. One for low-grade handicaps.

Horse silk
100/1
7th foal; half-brother to 5 winners inc Lord Riddiford (5f inc at ) although dam stayed farther. Not the most appealing pedigree and likely best watched.

Horse silk

Galileo colt. Dam multiple Group 1 winner up to 1m2f in Australia but showed little to remind of illustrious parents when 11th of 15 here last autumn. Almost certain to improve plenty but yard third string on jockey bookings.

€85,000 yearling by Camelot made some late headway on debut at the Curragh last August although well beaten. This trip will suit better but yard have stronger candidate in Grandmaster Flash.

Horse silk
20/1
Zoffany gelding who cost €42,000 as a yearling slow away but showed some ability when midfield on debut last season. Longer trip here can help and not a great surprise if he's in the hunt for a place now.

5/1
Son of Oasis Dream is half-brother to two winners in smart jumper Timiyan and 1m4f winner Timikar. Sixth of 13 beaten a little over 6L on debut at the Curragh last September. Japan was behind him that day and is now Derby second favourite.

Second foal; brother to 7f-1m winner Cascadian (inc 2yo); dam 6.5f-9.5f winner (inc at 2/turf Listed/9.5f AW Grade 3 UAE Oaks). Well bred newcomer from yard in great form so market check advised.

Second to subsequent Group Two winner/classic hope Anthony Van Dyck in second start before getting closer to subsequent Beresford Stakes second Mount Everest next. Excellent form and almost certainly win such a race very soon.

Stoutly bred Shamardal colt finished midfield behind useful Western Australia on debut last season. Longer trips this season will suit better but this may come soon enough.

Forecasts

Grandmaster Flash (3/1), Yonkers (3/1), Tinandali (5/1), Trossachs (6/1), King Pellinor (10/1), Pacific Ocean (14/1), Conor Hogan (16/1), Harpo Marx (16/1), Sir Psycho (20/1), Zarafshan (20/1), Pasley (20/1), Building Bridges (33/1), Final Endeavour (66/1), Millford Sound (100/1), Malbas (100/1), Bright Flame (100/1), Montana Gold (100/1)

Verdict

YONKERS was second to two very smart Ballydoyle classic contender in his most recent two maidens as a two-year-old and that form gives him strong claims here so he gets the nod. Grandmaster Flash was second twice also at the end of last season so he rates the most obvious threat with Harpo Marx although the apparent second string of Aidan O'Brien the preferred of the Ballydoyle trio also worth respect.
  1. Yonkers
  2. Grandmaster Flash
  3. Harpo Marx
