Three wins on turf last summer (1m3f-1m5f), all coming on ground described as good or faster; has run well at this track in the past (Class 5); sits 7lb above his last winning mark; stablemate of Four Kingdoms.
Runner-up over 1m6f on turf at Bath (firm) in September; has progressed on the AW since then winning twice on Tapeta; showed a good turn of foot when beating the consistent Glan Y Gors at Newcastle (1m4f) in February; player despite a 4lb rise.
Won a couple on the bounce at Kempton (1m2f-1m3f) for Hugo Palmer in late summer/early autumn of 2018; sold for 25,000gns in October; needs to raise his game even further off this mark on debut for Keith Dalgleish; should stay the trip.
Made a bright start to 2019 with 2m AW wins at Chelmsford and Lingfield but has lost that sparkle in her more recent outings (from an elevated mark); must be revitalised by the switch to turf in order to remain competitive.
Decisive winner off a 5lb lower mark at Ayr (1m2f soft) in September 2018; maiden over hurdles, albeit did run some decent races at this track around the turn of the year (on good); interesting to see how she copes with a return to the Flat.
Course winner (1m4f) from a 4lb lower mark in August; ended her 2018 campaign with an admirable second to Firlinfeu here in October; should stay this longer trip, and more than capable of finding the frame if doing so; stablemate of Dragon Mountain.
A four-time career winner (three on the Flat, including over 1m4f at this track); potentially high enough in the weights on the level and was last in competitive action over hurdles at Hexham in September; stablemate of Akamanto.
Boasts a 30% strike-rate on the AW (1m4f Tapeta and Fibresand winner); still a maiden on turf (0-6) but is an improving filly, so could have more in the locker; 3lb higher than when beating a stablemate of Cry Wolf (Argus) latest.
Forecasts
Champarisi (5/2), Akamanto (11/2), Maulesden May (11/2), Dragon Mountain (6/1), Cry Wolf (13/2), Sarvi (10/1), Navajo Star (12/1), Four Kingdoms (12/1)
A race in which a couple of trainers are doubly-represented with Keith Dalgleish saddling the previous course winner Maulesden May and stable newcomer Dragon Mountain, whilst Akamanto is much preferred to Four Kingdoms of the R.Mike Smith-trained duo. Champarisi remains a maiden on turf, but has shown improvement on the AW beating a stablemate of the selection CRY WOLF at Southwell, so could have more in the locker. However, the same is true of the Alex Dunn-trained charge who showed a clean pair of heels to a couple of reliable types on Tapeta at Newcastle (1m4f) in February, and a subsequent 4lb rise in the weights looks to be within range.
- Cry Wolf
- Maulesden May
- Champarisi
