Back to form when an easy 5l winner over 6f here last time, and that was his first look at the track as well, so impressive in the circumstances. Question is whether the drop back to 5f is a positive or not, but if handling it, has chances again.

Unlucky not to have won at least once last autumn, twice going down by a nose in similar events to today. Conditions clearly no issue at all and it's a case of whether she's ready to go after a winter break.

Made all to win at Southwell last month, her first start after a wind operation and she clearly seemed to have improved from 2 to 3. Different surface to contend with here but no saying she won't handle it and must have chances.

Had some very good form last year, close fifth in Newbury's Super Sprint and a valuable Newmarket nursery, but went off the boil towards the end of the year. Could resume her improvement after a break and not to be dismissed lightly.

Winner at Wolverhampton last August but it was only a modest event and her form since then hasn't been anything special. Faces competition for the lead here too and is not the best drawn. Others preferred.

Improved a little to score here last September, coming with a late run to nail the prize on the line. Starts this season 3lb higher but the sort to progress again this year and she might get this run to suit as well. Danger to all.

Has been kept busy this winter, and showed she was still in some form when scoring at Wolverhampton two starts ago but well beaten at Newcastle under her revised mark latest, and might find this a bit too tough.

Forecasts

Swiss Pride (13/8), Lille (11/4), Keyhaven (9/2), Shining (8/1), Hanakotoba (11/1), Fizzy Feet (12/1), Cookupastorm (16/1)

Verdict

Tricky opener and despite the small field, hard to rule many of them out. LILLE looked an improved horse at Southwell and there's every chance she will handle this quicker surface just as well. She's drawn to attack again in stall 1 and might take some pegging back. Keyhaven looks another for whom this season will see her improve plenty, and if she is fir after a break, might prove the danger. Shining and Swiss Pride can battle it out for minor honours.
  1. Lille
  2. Keyhaven
  3. Shining
