Got of the mark at the 12th time of asking for connections when last seen in a Thurles maiden hurdle over this trip in January following a number of promising runs this season. Should be a leading contender with notable jockey booking.

Off the mark over hurdles when taking a 2m handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (soft) earlier this month. Fifth of 12 beaten 4¾L in a Navan handicap hurdle off a 2lb lower recently but can still be a danger in this company.

Failed to make the line-up when a reserve for the Fred Winter at Cheltenham. Runner-up behind Band Of Outlaws last time out and while he was no match for the winner that day, more progress looks likely and a leading player.

Achieved a fair level of form on the Flat in Germany and he's improved with each start over hurdles, winning well at Gowran Park last month. Looked over-whelmed when finishing down the field in the Fred Winter at the festival.

Verdict

MAZE RUNNER failed as a reserve to get in to the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham festival a race won by the impressive Band Of Outlaws, who beat the Willie Mullins-trained four-year-old by 4¾L on his last encounter at Naas in February. The Authorized gelding can win his second hurdle contest here holding off the expected challenges from the Gordon Elliott-trained Serious Ego and The Holy One for the Jessica Harrington/Barry Geraghty combination.
