Both career wins come over 7f and at novice level. Ended last season with a close third to subsequent Breeders Cup Mile hero Expert Eye at York (7f). 6f here something of an unknown but races with plenty of pace at 7f and certainly a leading player.

Would be fair to say his three-year-old season slightly disappointing on the whole but after winning a minor event at Leicester he twice finished fourth in 5f Group Three's. 6f here should be ok and suspect we will see the best of him this season.

Won Group Three's over this trip at age two and three and also beaten a short head last season in a Haydock Group Two by subsequent Group One winner Sands Of Mali. Has the best form in the book, will appreciate the ground and is the one to beat.

Ultra-consistent sprinter won twice last season and finished in first four in every race bar quagmire Ayr Gold Cup. Second in only previous try at this level and ended last season better than ever so well worth another go; respected.

Classy two-year-old (Listed winner, Group Two placed) but had his problems since running just twice. Fair fourth at Lingfield recently on AW debut and that could help fitness wise but will need a good bit more here.

Group Two winning two-year-old but now best known for regular presence in big sprint handicaps. Fourth in last year's Wokingham and won a decent handicap at Ascot so isn't far off this level but surprise if he manages better than a place.

Had a profitable winter on Lingfield's Polytrack with two wins including breakthrough Listed success last time out. No doubt this is a deeper contest so more needed and has to now prove she's as effective on turf.

Failed to win as a three-year-old but ran with great credit on the whole. Ended the campaign with Listed third over C&D on soft ground so credentials are there to be seen. Slight improvement needed but capable of a bold bid.

Forecasts

Equilateral (11/4), Invincible Army (4/1), Mokarris (9/2), Arbalet (13/2), Major Jumbo (15/2), Eirene (8/1), Tis Marvellous (11/1), Gorgeous Noora (16/1), Sir Thomas Gresham (25/1)

Verdict

This looks an above average contest for it's level and proven Group performer INVINCIBLE ARMY ticks all of the boxes with this level, trip and ground all ideal. Charlie Hills is in terrific form and his Equilateral although slightly disappointing last year remains a horse with genuine Group race potential, Hills' expertise with sprinters is also kept in mind. Arbalet has form as good as any but all of it is over 7f so the trip is the doubt here, there is no doubting his class however and he has to be respected.
  1. Invincible Army
  2. Equilateral
  3. Arbalet
