Overcame errors to score at Ffos Las in 2017 for Oliver Sherwood. Pulled up in five of his last six point-to-point starts and tailed off in the other. Would be a surprise if he completed let alone win.

Less highly tried than on his last two starts and he has shaped on both occasions as though he'd do better at this shorter trip. Will be happier in this smaller field and just has one serious rival to beat

Required plenty of persuasion from Richard Johnson to register his solitary success last summer. Well beaten on both starts since and this trip may be on the sharp side.

Beat Sego Success at Chaddesey Corbett before justifying short odds at Fakenham on hunter chase debut. Form book suggests he should have finished closer to the winner last time, but the trip proved too sharp and that is a potential problem here.

Beat a poor lot at Stratford two weeks ago under a positive ride over today's trip. Various form lines give him a lot to find with the principals, but that latest run indicates they cannot afford to allow him an easy lead.
6

150/1
Has failed to complete the course in five of his seven starts in the last year and was beaten an aggregate of more than 200L in the other two.

Forecasts

Risk A Fine (6/4), Marinero (7/4), Brave Jaq (9/4), Master Sunrise (22/1), Danvinnie (100/1), The Winningtipster (150/1)

Verdict

MARINERO has not been at his best this term but the smaller field here and the return to 2m4f are factors in his favour. Risk A Fine has looked in better shape but looked short of pace when tackling this trip last time and that will be the problem here if the selection runs to form. Brave Jaq is likely to find more competition for the lead than was the case when winning at Stratford but he makes a lot more appeal than the rest of this field.
  1. Marinero
  2. Risk A Fine
  3. Brave Jaq
