Won at Southwell in November but improved on that effort when placed on his last two starts in stronger company. Up another 2lb but in better form than most.

Gained compensation for an unlucky defeat at Catterick when ridden more handily to score at Fakenham. Up 6lb for that, but he is just 2lb higher than when second in a Cheltenham class 3 in October and he is only a six-year-old

Both his victories have come at Plumpton. Absent since last May and yard have gone more than a year without a winner.

Point-to-point winner has produced two tame efforts following a layoff and it may take more than first-time cheekpieces to revive his fortunes.

Winning point-to-pointer, but after some promise on hurdles bow in November, has run poorly in three subsequent starts including his chasing bow three weeks ago.

Still a maiden but posted a respectable effort on chase debut in January. Had wind surgery subsequently and pulled up on first start since. Stable 4-4 in last two weeks and nicely weighted if anywhere near his best.

Dual point-to-point on good and good-to-soft ground. Has gradually improved this season and as a six-year-old there is probably more to come. Will appreciate these quicker conditions compared to last time and he is one for the shortlist.

Has looked reluctant on his last two starts but reunited here with rider who steered him to victory in January. Prone to errors and that makes him opposable on a track that requires a sound jumper.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: J M Quinlan| T: R Dickin| OR:  91

Placed in a couple of point-to-points but has shown only the merest glimmer of ability and his latest effort was flattering.

Won from 8lb higher in 2017, when with Gary Moore. Increasingly inconsistent, and after one run for Barry Brennan he was tailed off at Taunton latest for this yard. Hard to fancy.

Not too many miles on the clock but form is nothing special so far and needs to post an improved effort. First run back after wind surgery yielded no improvement and blinkers tried this time.

Had a confidence boosting success over hurdles last week having made two terrible blunders on previous start over fences. Had won despite errors at Uttoxeter and fears the fences down the back straight here may find him out.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-4| J: R T Dunne| T: Sheila Lewis| OR:  83

Has a modest record with a couple of flattering finishing positions on his cv. Pulled up last time and opposable in this company.

Winning point-to-pointer has completely lost his way and faces a near impossible task here from 31lb out of the weights.

Verdict

Silent Encore had some good form here over hurdles and bids to maintain his yards 100% record in the past couple of weeks. He is one of the more interesting runners here despite a poor effort last time. Boughtbeforelunch is entitled to top the weights but faces a couple of improving young horses who may be better handicapped. Coopers Square's jumping is a worry, but Danseur Du Large is gradually coming to hand after a slow start and the jockey booking looks significant with the drying ground also in his favour. FIFTY SHADES has gone up the weights for his Fakenham victory but remains nicely weighted on his autumn form in much better company than this.
