Cosy winner on her penultimate start (6f, Kempton) and ran to a similar level despite being a beaten favourite at Lingfield ten-days ago; rated a further 1lb higher; possible that newly applied cheekpieces can eke out more improvement.
£150,000 yearling; ran his best race so far on the Polytrack at Kempton (6f) in December when finishing ¾L third to James Street; didn't progress next time (over C&D) and now switched to the handicapping route.
Course winner (5f) in August 2018; back from a winter break with close-up handicap debut fourth to Warning Fire at Lingfield (6f) recently; cheekpieces now applied.
100,000gns yearling; yet to justify his fancy name; probably got racing plenty early enough when finishing a weakening fourth in a 6f Kempton maiden in February; more needed on handicap debut.
Half-sister to the useful 7f-1m winner Sound Advice; finished 1¼L third to Deputise on handicap debut at Newcastle (5f) in November; ought to prove capable of winning a race or two, although not necessarily today's.
Has plenty of experience but hasn't always delivered the goods; well beaten on stable debut at Lingfield (7f) 12-days ago after proving fractious in the starting stalls; difficult to imagine that there's too much improvement left in the locker.
Has grown into a consistent little filly on Tapeta at Newcastle since breaking her duck in November (5f); started 2/5f, but set plenty to do by her rider when finishing runner-up to a dual subsequent scorer latest; realistic contender.
Consistent without quite managing to win for former trainer Richard Fahey; slowly away and running on at the finish when beaten just over 1L by The Defiant here (5f) last month; races officially for John Butler for the first time.
Nabbed Saturday's Lingfield scorer Sundiata with a jet-propelled late thrust in a fillies' novice stakes over C&D three-weeks ago; there's every likelihood that she's well treated off a mark of 64; a real force to be reckoned with.
Didn't finish all that far behind today's re-opposing rival Klopp when beaten in a bunch finish on handicap debut at Newcastle (6f) 24-days ago; should find a suitable winning opportunity on the AW sooner or later.
11-race maiden (0-5 on the AW); hasn't been in the care of David Brown for all that long; fairly closely matched with Klopp, even allowing for the fact the runner-up was given a poor ride at Newcastle recently.
Forecasts
Distant Mirage (11/4), Second Collection (5/1), Griggy (5/1), Klopp (15/2), Fizzy Feet (8/1), Friendly Advice (9/1), Molaaheth (10/1), Evangeline Samos (20/1), Invincible One (20/1), Ascot Dreamer (25/1), Axel Jacklin (100/1)
An interesting-looking 3yo handicap. The consistent Klopp is a major player assuming that she's able to perform to the same standard at Wolverhampton as she has done at Newcastle in recent months. She was set plenty to do by her rider (an apprentice) when failing to justify strong market support on her most recent outing (form handsomely franked by the winner Camachess), whilst both Distant Mirage and Griggy (a non-runner at Lingfield on Saturday) are possible players. However, despite not necessarily having the sexiest of profiles, SECOND COLLECTION literally flew home when nabbing Sundiata over C&D latest and appears well-treated from her current handicap mark.
- Second Collection
- Klopp
- Distant Mirage
