Continued steady progress when running away with a Chepstow handicap by 18L two starts back. Made favourite next despite 10lb rise she could only manage fifth of nine at Exeter. Gets 1lb back but handicap may still be too high.

10/1
Gained second career success over hurdles latest when winning over C&D in novice company. Plenty to like about that performance but wouldn't leap off the page as well handicapped here.

The White Mouse22
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-8| J: L P Aspell| T: L Wadham| OR:  125

Took record to two from three over hurdles latest albeit the race she won was just a three-runner contest. This obviously demands more but clearly unexposed and open to improvement.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-7| J: C Gethings| T: S Edmunds| OR:  124

Won last two races over hurdles at Fakenham and Market Rasen with the latest particularly impressive. This race at a premier track likely to demand a good deal more but can't criticise way she won latest.

Winner of a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen (good) in November. Odds-on when runner-up at Fontwell (2m3f, soft) next before pulling up latest at Ludlow. There were excuses there so not ruled out by any means.

Won just once in 15 starts over hurdles. Second of three to considerably less exposed The White Mouse latest and although better off at the weights doubt she reverses the placings.

Gained due reward for series of consistent efforts when justfying favouritism at Ayr last time out having been close third in Listed mares event previous start. This looks a warmer event than last time but not totally ruled out.

11/1
Fontwell maiden winner in second start before third latest at the same venue under a penalty. Looks likely to appreciate this longer trip and could very well prove a leading protagonist under the champion jockey.

Maiden but ran a good second on handicap debut at Sandown and still every chance latest when brought down three out at Ludlow. Could very easily make amends here with better luck and certainly one for the shortlist.

Dead-heated in a bumper last year. Showed the benefit of wind surgery and a tongue-tie with two seconds at Taunton and Wincanton the last twice. Jockey booking catches the eye here and go well if handling longer trip.

Etamine Du Cochett126
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  115| DWS
10/1
Winner over this distance at Huntingdon two starts back before close third in small field at Uttoxeter. Likes to front-run but few rivals have same preference so could be uncontested and first string of last year's winning yard.

Meep Meep91
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: T Scudamore| T: T Lacey| OR:  114
10/1
Won bumper in good style on debut before she was stepped in grade for a mares' Grade 2 bumper at Aintree (finished 4th). Fair efforts first two over hurdles but pulled up latest on heavy ground. This may suit more and seriously unexposed.

Ran comfortably her best race so far latest when second over this trip at Huntingdon in a maiden contest. On the face of it she looks to have plenty on her plate here but this yard's first-time handicappers always feared.

11-race maiden but ran well last twice over hurdles with a second at Fontwell and third at Market Rasen in a handicap over this distance. Upped 2lb for last year's winning connections but has to be on any shortlist.

Verdict

Although she only won a three-runner event latest the vote here goes to THE WHITE MOUSE who might well prove seriously well handicapped as a result of winning such a contest. Dan Skelton won this last year with recent Cheltenham Grade One winner Roksana and his apparent first string Etamine Du Cochet must therefore be highly respected. She Mite Bite was brought down when going well latest and is another considered for the champion trainer.
