5/2
Penalised for his debut win at Wolverhampton (1m½f), and looking over what the opposition have achieved subsequently that's probably only modest form; ran to a broadly similar level next time (third).

Metatron127
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-9| J: R Kingscote| T: Tom Dascombe
9/4
£120,000 yearling; downed a much heralded opponent (Repaupo) when an impressive 7L winner on debut at Wolverhampton (1m½f) in October; finished a fair third on his next start; much respected despite his 7lb penalty.

Moftris21
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: James Doyle| T: W J Haggas
11/2
Easy to back and disappointing on debut at Chelmsford (7f) three-weeks ago. However, he should fare better assuming that James Doyle can anchor him early on; fair pedigree and certainly isn't one to be giving up on just yet.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: M Dwyer| T: M P Tregoning
7/2
Half-brother to various winners, including the AW scorer Tawdeea (1m-1m4f); not knocked about on debut at Chelmsford (1m) three-weeks ago when finishing a running-on fourth to Solar Heights; capable of better with time once upped in trip.

€13,500 foal, €25,000 yearling; second foal; half-brother to the Italian 7f-7½f winner Swiiss; tongue-tie applied for racecourse debut under 7lb claimer Pierre-Louis Jamin.

Ritchie Valens240
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon
6/1
47,000gns yearling; definite signs of promise in a couple of juvenile starts on turf in the summer of 2018 (6f-7f); returns to action from a 240-day absence for his first competitive attempt on a synthetic surface; chance.

Miss Enigma12
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: S W Kelly| T: R Hughes
50/1
€50,000 yearling; raced enthusiastically on her AW debut at Kempton (7f) 12-days ago; could do better assuming that initial freshness is out of her system; would need to settle better in order to stay this longer trip (is bred to do so).

Tsarmina11
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: E J Walsh| T: P D Evans
100/1
Caught the eye on debut when finishing a staying on fourth to Questionaire (John Gosden) over an extended 1m1f trip at Wolverhampton; raced towards the fore early on when proving much less effective back there eight-days later; needs more.

Forecasts

Metatron (9/4), Fields Of Athenry (5/2), Mohtarrif (7/2), Moftris (11/2), Ritchie Valens (6/1), Power Of You (50/1), Miss Enigma (50/1), Tsarmina (100/1)

Verdict

An open-looking novice contest which features a couple of previous winners in the shape of Fields Of Athenry and METATRON, along with a number of other horses who should improve with additional racing experience, namely Moftris and Mohtarrif. The selection cost £120,000 as a yearling, and made the perfect start when impressively downing the John Gosden-trained hotpot Repaupo at Wolverhampton in October. He couldn't quite scale such lofty heights on his next outing (ran respectably) but that form has been boosted by the runner-up Gantier, so there remains hope that he's capable of shouldering his 7lb winners penalty to further success.
