Placed on her only start in bumpers, and best effort over hurdles when winning over C&D on her recent handicap debut. Suited by increased test of stamina for that success, and should do better again.

Veteran who was third over C&D in December, but has essentially looked on the downgrade this season, and may again find a few too good.

From a good staying family, but he has made little impact in a bumper or over hurdles. albeit in much stronger races than this. Now has a chance to show his mettle handicapping at a modest level, and any market support should be noted.

Beaten along way on first four hurdles starts, but fared better on second handicap start when third to Save The Pennies over C&D last time. Now 3lb better off, and claims if tongue tie has a positive effect.

Tailed off on all three starts since returning from a long layoff in January, and hard to get excited by her prospects, despite the fitting of cheekpieces.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-2| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: S Drinkwater| OR:  84

Won a 2m7f heavy-ground Lingfield handicap hurdle last March off a mark of 86, his only win from 16 under Rules. More out than in since, and needs blinkers to wake him up if he's to be competitive.

Won staying handicaps over fences here and at Uttoxeter last month before unseating when a warm favourite here last time. Wore blinkers for all three of those runs, but headgear left off now back over hurdles.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: Ben Godfrey(7)| T: Miss S Smith| OR:  78

Has run quite well in defeat on all three starts for current yard, faring better than the bare result when fifth at Taunton last time. Isn't proven at this trip, but she ought to be competitive if staying.

Forecasts

Coopers Square (9/4), Save The Pennies (5/2), My Turgeon (4/1), Sisania (7/1), Pray For A Rainbow (12/1), Red Admirable (12/1), Ector (25/1), Easyontheeye (100/1)

Verdict

SAVE THE PENNIES needs to improve again to defy her new mark, but her C&D win last time was a belated first try in handicaps, and she really should build on that. She can confirm form with third-placed My Turgeon, and while dual chase winner Coopers Square is respected, it's a little disconcerting to see the blinkers dispensed with, his improvement coinciding with the fitting of that headgear.
  1. Save The Pennies
  2. My Turgeon
  3. Coopers Square
