Returned to hurdling latest when midfield in a Leicester handicap beaten 9L. Not won over timber since 2015 although that over C&D and off 4lb higher mark. Up for debate whether he is still the same force.
2m Taunton novice winner made little impression in two subsequent 2m3f handicaps but in both looked suspiciously like a non-stayer. Stiff 2m might help and handicapper helped plenty so expecting better now.
Had 13 races for this yard and losing streak stretches all the way back to 2013; surely one of the longest active losing streaks. Third to start the campaign a fair effort but struggled twice since and hard to be confident.
Returned from a 270 day break when absolutely bolting up in a Ffos Las handicap by 19L. No surprise handicapper hits back with a 15lb hike but against rivals largely out of form he makes plenty of appeal.
Been in decent form on the flat with a string of placed efforts over 2m at Lingfield. Fifth of 10 last time over hurdles but suggest current handicap mark just about within range although may just prefer further now.
Only once placed in eight races over hurdles and that a 3m1f maiden at Huntingdon. Drop in trip here interesting but running style suggests it might just suit and trainer/jockey both always respected in such contests.
Snapped a losing streak that dated back to 2015 when coming from off the pace to score readily at Lingfield in January. 7lb rise for that 18L win looks pretty reasonable so should make another bold bid.
Forecasts
Bonne Question (13/8), Bang On (5/2), Kastani Beach (11/2), Prairie Town (8/1), Shanroe Tic Tec (10/1), Argyle (14/1), Vicenzo Mio (20/1)
BONNE QUESTION was one of the easiest winners seen in recent months when he absolutely hacked up at Ffos Las. A 15lb handicap rise certainly ups the ante but in a race lacking strength in depth he is taken to follow up. Fellow easy winner Kastani Beach rates the biggest danger but Shanroe Tic Tec looks the sort who could have has this race in mind so he merits plenty of respect also.
