Won a Point-to-point and then not disgraced in a bumper at Exeter on rules bow in December. Hurdles debut improved on latest when third but well held nevertheless and much more needed here.

Still going well when he unseated on his hurdles debut but couldn't reel in the leaders when third in a modest event next. Fourth at Plumpton latest a fair effort and hard to see him being far away now.
Beaten 26L and 23L in his two hurdle races to date and while he has shown some ability he looks up against it to make the frame here.

Bumper winner on much quicker ground in July shows he has ability but a poor effort at Hereford was followed by similar next at Ffos Las. Hard to fancy now.

Finished fourth in his last two novices achieving a rating of 125. That ought to see him competitive in such a contest and therefore highly respected although vulnerable to less exposed sorts.
Won just one of 23 races on the Flat in France and not sighted since July 2017. Rarely can any novices from this yard be ruled out but this one hard to fancy overall.

Clear promise on bumper debut at Ffos Las in December made latest tailed off last in similar contest there next all the more disappointing. Confident that can be left behind now but tall order now switched to hurdling.

33/1 fourth of 16 beaten 13½L on debut at Newbury but improved plenty next to land an Aintree contest in November. Second won since so that looks fair form and must be respected on this, his hurdles bow.

7/1
Showed decent level of form in two bumpers and two hurdles culminating in Ludlow third latest in a similar maiden. Won't need to improve to be in the mix but any progress could well see him come out on top.

11/10
Impressive winner of lone point-to-point cost connections princely sum of £400,000 at the sales last December. Still right there until stumbling at the last on debut at Ascot but that level stands out and expectant of very bold showing now.

Beaten 35L and 50L in two bumpers so far. No reason for optimism here.

Forecasts

Trevelyn's Corn (11/10), Manvers House (4/1), Colditz Castle (5/1), Stop The World (7/1), Sojourn (8/1), Golden Sovereign (20/1), Marcel Debruxelles (20/1), Caspers Court (50/1), Moonlight Camp (66/1), Leaving Home (100/1), Zambino (200/1)

Verdict

Events conspired against expensive purchase TREVELYN'S CORN on debut at Ascot but this extremely bright prospect is expected to make amends for the all-conquering Ditcheat team. Manvers House sets the standard and a decent one so he should be involved while of the hurdles newcomers Aintree bumper winner Sojourn appeals the most.
  1. Trevelyn's Corn
  2. Manvers House
  3. Sojourn
