One of two runners in this race for the trainer who only made his racecourse debut as a four-year-old here over an extended 1m. Offered little though showing plenty of experience, vulnerable to the younger brigade.

Second of the two runners the trainer has in here who made her debut as a rare bumper runner for the yard last year (finished runner-up). Showed little on her Flat debut but outran her odds when last seen over 1m on turf; needs this run for a mark.

Easy to back on debut (made some appeal on pedigree) when first seen in 2017 over 7f and shaped even better when next seen after a year off. Saw her race out well over C&D behind an odds-on winner; will stay further and looks likely to progress.

Took a major step forward from his debut run when taking a 7f novice at Lingfield earlier this month. Got the run of the race from the front but showed a professional attitude holding on well; carries a penalty but still and improving sort.

Made some appeal on pedigree (half-brother to a useful juvenile) prior to his debut but only hinted at having some ability. Green for most of the race (bumped at start) he looked one more for the future; looks vulnerable on his sole run.

Notable for the amount of inexperience that he showed on his debut he did gradually get the hang of things during the race over further here. The late headway he made showed that he has ability; it may take another run or two to fulfil his potential.

Two runs so far and needs this run for a mark he's so far looked to have only a modicum of ability and it may take some while to draw that out of him. Drops back to 7f now having had both his runs over 1m so far; one of the lesser lights.

One of only two making their debuts in the field he's a brother to two winners (both smart types) with the dam also a winner at up to 1m. Stable not noted for their debut winners of this type but worth watching for a market move.

Price dropped markedly from foal to yearling by some £33,000 and he's shown nothing so far on the track having had two runs separated by a 9 week break. Started big prices on each occasion and likely to do so again here; limited appeal.

80-1 when well held in a fillies' novice stakes as a juvenile late last year and he would have been hard for her to show less. Hood worn on debut is retained for her second start but in truth very little can be expected of her.

Laulloir
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-6| J: S A Gray| T: K A Ryan
25/1
The other newcomer in the field from a powerful yard who cost €47,000 as a yearling. By American sire More Than Ready she's a half-sister to three winners with the dam (1m winner) a half-sister to Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Favorite Trick.

Offered very little on her debut as a juvenile over 7f before returning up in trip off the back of a four month break over 1m. Still looked in need of the experience (failed to settle); will at least get a mark after running in this.

Forecasts

Bay Of Naples (5/6), Sarasota (11/2), Cardano (6/1), Irish Charm (6/1), Percy Alexander (8/1), Laulloir (25/1), Angel Black (33/1), Risk Mitigation (33/1), Born In Thorne (40/1), Maisie Moo (66/1), Showshutai (100/1), Angel Dundee (100/1)

Verdict

The penalty that BAY OF NAPLES carries for his Lingfield win makes life a little more difficult but it’s hard not to see him having some more improvement in him yet given that this will be just his third career start. Sarasota looks to be the main danger having run with promise here last time to chase home an odds-on chance with Cardano another who impressed with his initial effort although he might just take a little longer to blossom. Both the newcomers Risk Mitigation and Laulloir are worth watching for a market move with Born In Thorne a possible handicap project as she qualifies for a mark after this run.
  1. Bay Of Naples
  2. Sarasota
  3. Laulloir
