His previous chasing form had been poor but off the back of a good spell over hurdles and a change of rider he prevailed (well supported) in good style at Taunton. Ran well last time although this mark proved too tough; cheekpieces return.
Often looked a hard ride (has his quirks) with his form more miss than hit of late having been tried in various headgear. The blinkers are now popped on for the first time and this is an ease in grade off a lower mark but still questions to answer.
Form has yet to really convince over fences although the application of this combination of headgear appeared to see him step forward a little last time. That was just his second start for this yard so not one to totally give up on yet.
Can be a lazy sort and reportedly given another wind operation since he was last seen. Chasing form a real mixed bag and hard to be convinced he's really taken to the discipline despite finishing second last time; comes with risks attached.
Switch to chasing really appears to have suited this point-to-point winner who only completed once over hurdles. A winner of three chases the handicapper may have hold of her now and she lacks the assistance of Bryony Frost (all wins for her).
Inconsistency has been the name of his game since scoring at Huntingdon over a year ago only rarely looking like repeating that form. He's slipped 4lb below that last winning mark but looks to have lost his way of late; unsafe proposition.
Career record stands at 1-36 (0-17 over fences) although he does have the odd performance in this sphere which would count as sound enough. Ran his best race over fences last time (2m4f), back up in trip but has to repeat that outing.
