One of three making their handicap debut in this contest and can build on a number of promising starts since the turn of the year. Entered in the Listed Close Brothers handicap at the festival and respected here.
Distance winner and second of seven over this trip in a Punchestown novice chase in November. Has made late headway in a couple of starts since the turn of the year over shorter trips and one for the shortlist back up in distance.
Fell on chase bow at Punchestown in November and not disgraced in a couple of graded contests since before a promising second of 10 last month at Fairyhouse. Westerner gelding holds strong place claims.
Struggling of late in the Paddy Power and Grand National trial at Punchestown earlier this month. One to watch in the market dropping in trip for yard who hold a 36% win and place strike rate at this meeting in the last four years.
Previous progressive runs were rewarded when the Gentlewave gelding bagged his first win over the larger obstacles last month in a novice handicap chase over C&D. Open to significant improvement and a leading player.
Made a winning debut over fences when netting a Down Royal beginners contest over this trip in December. Beaten since but requires consideration holding an entry in the Close Brothers handicap at the festival.
Off the mark for powerful connections over the larger obstacles at the fourth time of asking when bagging a Fairyhouse beginners contest last month by 2L. Likely to improve on handicap debut and one to consider.
Under pressure in third when falling at the last in a Punchestown novice chase earlier this month following a win over 2m at Down Royal last month. Strong claims for yard who boast a 41% win and place strike at this meeting since 2015.
In good form recently over the larger obstacles winning three out of his last six starts including a win over C&D in November off a 14lb lower mark. Respected holding a couple of Cheltenham festival entries.
19 race maiden and without success in seven starts over fences though not disgraced in a number of runs since November. Will need a couple to falter in first-time blinkers.
Winner of a 2m5f beginners' contest at Cork in November, though since well held last month in 2m4f Fairyhouse novice event and on handicap debut here over C&D. Unlikely to play a role in the finish.
Useful dual hurdles winner yet to reach that level of performance in five chase starts including a 30L defeat at Cork when last seen in January. Liable to find a couple stronger.
Decent 125-rated hurdler without success in five starts over fences, well held and never nearer on each occasion. Plenty to prove in this contest.
