Looked beaten three out but rallied to justify short odds 10 days ago.His 2018 form and official rating make him hard to rule out, but that Kelso run does suggest there are vulnerabilities.
C&D winner rated 149 in his prime and partnered by an amateur with a 4-23 under rules. Stable 4-4 in this event but the way he has folded on his last two starts is a major concern.
Decent handicap chaser for Philip Hobbs at his best, handles most ground and stays well but three non-completions last three starts and an absence to overcome ring a few alarm bells.
Beaten 43L when third at Haydock and even his best form of three years ago probably would not be good enough.

Forecasts
Shantou Flyer (10/11), Southfield Vic (6/4), Three Faces West (7/1), Tulsa Jack (20/1), Connetable (20/1)
It is hard to be confident about any of these. SHANTOU FLYER looks the obvious one based on official ratings and a Kelso victory that confirms his wellbeing. He made hard work of it last time but he will set out to make full use of his stamina and expose any flaws in Southfield Vic whose stable's record in this contest is more impressive than his latest efforts. The fact his trainer perseveres with him suggests he may still have something to offer.
