Showed improved form after wind surgery when scoring at Chepstow (2m, good to soft) last time. 6lb rise will ask further questions, but he is unexposed and remains interesting at this level.
C&D scorer (soft) in December, when 3lb lower. Ran with credit again at Ayr last time. Unexposed and another who may be capable of better. Claims.
Was foiled in his hat-trick bid from this mark last time, but that was another slight improvement. Adaptable with regard to conditions and he is another who should again be competitive.
Unseated on chase debut and held by Divine Port on their running at Ayr last month. Improvement needed, but is unexposed.
2m and soft ground appear to be his optimum race conditions, so would ideally prefer a bit more rain. On a handy mark if at his best, and should appreciate the return to this grade, so can't rule him out.
2-18 over fences and probably at his best on a sound surface. Handicapper is giving him a chance again, and he could have a big say if it dries up a bit more.
Behind Mumgos Debut at Newcastle last month, but improved on that back at that track last time, when breaking his chase duck at the fourth attempt. Up 4lb, but may be able to kick on.
1-13 over fences and has run really well in defeat several times this season. Goes well here and is on a handy mark, but needs to pull out more at the business end to secure a second chasing success.
Forecasts
Doc Carver (1/1), Divine Port (7/2), Budarri (11/2), Ca Le Ferra (10/1), Mumgos Debut (14/1), Instingtive (18/1), Uno Valoroso (22/1), Chain Of Beacons (25/1)
This looks competitive. Uno Valoroso and Mumgos Debut are more exposed than some but both can have cases made for them. Doc Carver should give another good account under top weight, while Budarri is another who could do better. Similar comments apply to DIVINE PORT, who has scored over C&D and after another good effort last time, may be able to get his nose in front again.
- Divine Port
- Doc Carver
- Mumgos Debut
