Winner of the Grade 1 Lexus Chase over two years ago and the following years Grade 1 Champion chase at Down Royal. Well held five out in the Irish Gold cup earlier this month and now drops in to this grade for the first time over fences.
Solid and consistent sort, winner of a Listed contest at Thurles in November. Second of 18 beaten 1¼L last month in a handicap chase at Gowran Park and can be expected to step up on that performance here for yard who won this race in 2015.
Winner of the Grade 2 four-miler at the Festival before a 7½L defeat in Grade 1 champion novice chase at Punchestown last season. Respected from yard that has produced the last three winners of the race but advancing years a negative in this contest
Winner of a Kilbeggan novice chase in May 2017 but has since failed to complete in six of his seven starts over the larger obstacles. Form doesn't warrant support.
Hasn't won since his impressive Grade 1 success at Down Royal back in 2016. Out of form in a number of starts over fences since the turn of the year and needs to bounce back in a big way to have a say here.
Winner of three of her 12 starts over fences including victory in the Listed mares' chase at Newbury before Christmas. Running well in defeat since the turn of the year and a bold bid could be in the offing.

The solid and consistent ALPHA DES OBEAUX can land the spoils here following a number of promising starts since the turn of the year, confirming his entry in the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase at the festival. The Jessica Harrington-trained mare, Magic Of Light can prove to be the biggest danger after a win and a runner-up position in competitive contests this year. Trainer Willie Mullins has won this race for the last three years with Boston Bob, Pleasant Company and Bellshill but may have to settle for a minor honour with his two representatives.
