An £82,000 three-year-old, dam unraced sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3m+) Hell's Bay. Yard in form (4-10), check betting.

£56,000 purchase at stores sales in 2017, nicely bred and will appreciate a fence in time. Fifth at Bangor on debut in December having been held up, more to come.

Half-brother to winning staying chaser Achill Road Boy, which suggests his future lies over further and probably once seeing some obstacles. Not shown a lot in four starts so far (three in point-to-points) and best watched again.

€100,000 son of Gold Well out of an unraced sister to First Lieutenant. Found only one too good last month at Wincanton on debut (ran green) and there should be plenty more to come for in-form stable.

7/4
Scorpion gelding whose maiden dam is related to smart chaser of a few decades ago, Drumlargan. No chance with easy winner on debut over C&D in December but beat the remainder and should improve.
Multiplex half-brother to modest staying chaser Dingo Bay out of a staying hurdler. Likely to need time and distance, a theory that was enhanced by his effort at Newbury on debut in November.

Beaten 90L on his sole bumper outing so far at Plumpton in December and will need to improve a great deal to make an impact here. Attracted support on that occasion and thought to be better than that; interesting to see how market judges this time.
€125,000 purchase at three-years-old, closely related to point winner Sixteen Letters, out of an unraced sister to 2m4f hurdle winner Look Who's Back. Trainer does well in bumpers and could make a nice debut.

€46,000 three-year-old, Gold Well gelding. Dam an unraced half-sister to smart hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3m) Claymore. Wears tongue-tie on debut and stamina in pedigree suggests this test may be sharp.

Placed point-to-pointer made a bright start to his career under rules with a good second at Hereford, though December third at Haydock can only be viewed as backwards step. Meets better surface potentially.
Fame And Glory gelding with a stamina-laden pedigree, comes out of a much-respected yard for first run and commands close scrutiny.
€30,000 three-year-old, dam, unraced, sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser Oscar Time. Winner of sole point-to-point in Ireland worth noting on debut for Neil Mulholland.
Half-brother to nine winners, with fair pedigree on the Flat. Third of four on debut at Exeter in October in a race that hasn't worked out all that well, more required this time.

Cost £10,000 as a three-year-old, the son of Kalanisi is a half-brother to a winning Irish point-to-pointer. Modest start last month at Ffos Las and hard to see required improvement coming to open account now.
Dylan Thomas filly, tailed off at Exeter on debut in a bumper on New Year's Day having gone off a 50-1 outsider, watching brief advised.

Verdict

GOLDEN GIFT looked in need of the experience in last month's debut at Wincanton and did well to take second spot in light of that. He'll be all the wiser for that outing and, with trainer in red-hot form, can go one better here. Imperial Esprit was second over C&D on debut and is next-best from those that have run ahead of Donladd, who shaped nicely under a patient ride at Bangor first up. Newcomers Orrisdale, Storm Force Ben and Connect Four all need close attention in the betting.
