Back-to-back Market Rasen hurdles wins on good in August, and went close from this mark next time. Has not yet confirmed that he gets this sort of trip, so has that to prove, but respected for the trainer that won this last year.
Won from 15lb higher as a hurdler, but has proved inferior to that sort of mark over fences so far. Not ruled out if producing his November Catterick form, but hard to fancy on what we have seen since.
Dual 2m5f point-to-point winner who has been disappointing for this trainer, except one run at Wetherby. That may have flattered him, so still has to prove it was no fluke.
Stayed on well for second at Kempton (2m2f) in October and ran well when upped to 2m3f at Exeter last time. Even longer trip should suit better, and he looks the one to beat.
Eight-race chasing maiden and well beaten in the two races he has finished this season. Would be a shock winner from 5lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Cap Du Nord (10/11), Lucky Robin (4/1), Mistercobar (11/2), Braavos (6/1), Flying Jack (10/1)
The step up in trip ought to suit CAP DU NORD, who is taken to make the long trip north-east pay off with a maiden chasing success. Lucky Robin is an obvious potential danger if he stays, with Braavos perhaps next best.
