2-2 so far, having won a bumper and then produced a very promising effort to win over C&D on his hurdles debut. Should go very well under a penalty.

Tasted success on the Flat at trips up to 2m, and has begun well over hurdles. Destroyed his field here last time, and with the champion back for the mount again, he is probably the one to beat under his penalty.

Ran well in a bumper last summer (good), but well held in that discipline last time. Switch to hurdles should help with improvement, although probably in time and over further.

100-1 and beaten a long way on his hurdles debut in Ireland and couldn't complete on his British debut last time. Others preferred.

Cost £18,000 after a recent point-to-point win. Probably wants further than this, but worth a market check on rules debut.

Dual firm ground Flat winner for Charles Hills last year. Won at Catterick on his hurdles debut and again ran well under a penalty last time, despite not jumping fluently. Makes the short list.

Respectable effort here on debut in a bumper, but well beaten in all three starts since, including on last month's hurdles debut.

Well beaten at big prices in all three starts so far, so impossible to recommend her at present.

Not beaten far in a 1m3f claimer on the Flat in France last year. Cost 9,000gns in November and probably one to watch on hurdles/stable debut.

Went close in a 1m3½f Flat maiden last year, when with Tom Dascombe. Cost 10,000gns in October, and does have a bit of ability. Market check on hurdles/stable debut.

Betting

Forecast

Ingleby Hollow (10/11), Ettila De Sivola (9/4), Groveman (10/3), Tour De Pub (25/1), Crimson Skies (33/1), Bobndave (33/1), Thunder Boy (66/1), Darsi's Jewel (150/1), Madam Scully (200/1), Jo Cashflow (200/1), Piccalilli Pie (200/1), Duba Plains (250/1)

Verdict

A cracking contest in prospect, where the three previous winners look to have a considerable amount more ability than the rest of the field and can probably battle it out. Ettila De Sivola is feared in taking him on with INGLEBY HOLLOW, who looked useful when scoring here last time. Groveman is far from discounted, but needs to hurdle with more fluency than last time.
  1. Ingleby Hollow
  2. Ettila De Sivola
  3. Groveman
