Finished last of 16 over 6f at Thirsk in May when last in competitive action; cheekpieces on for debut for Ingoe-based handler Karen McLintock; should be fine over this longer trip on pedigree.
C&D winner on her sole AW start (September 2016); 8lb higher in the weights and that's asking plenty off an eight-month absence.
His best effort for previous trainer David Simcock came when beaten a neck in a 1m maiden at Pontefract (soft) in October 2017; bought for 8,000gns later that month, but off the track since; market helpful.
6L winner of a 1m+ classified selling stakes for Jamie Osborne at Wolverhampton in January; possibly wasn't ideally suited by the surface on debut for this trainer at Southwell latest.
Both of his wins have come at Dunstall Park Wolverhampton (over the extended mile); theoretically should be competitive from this kind of mark, although recent evidence in claimers tempers enthusiasm.
Dual AW winner (7f-1m); in poor form since late 2017 and despite a slide in the weights rates as vulnerable over this stiff mile if electing to employ his usual front-running tactics.
7-33 on the AW (effective at both Wolverhampton and Chelmsford); arrives fresh to action having been off the track for in excess of 100-days; probably worth keeping an eye upon for future engagements.
Fully effective at this track (7f-1m) and her handicap mark of 63 is feasible; not beaten far by a progressive rival (runner-up has won a modest race since) latest; more appealing than the majority and solid in the place market.
Absent since beating New Abbey Angel by 1L at Wolverhampton (1m1f+) in November 2017; still relatively unexposed on the AW (1-2) from a 4lb higher mark; well-being and fitness taken on trust.
Ran a reasonable race when finishing third to Great Shot Sam in a 7f fillies' novice auction stakes here in November 2017 but seen only once competitively since; makes her handicap debut from a fair mark (60).
Fairly reliable since winning over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in December (off a 5lb lower mark); no issues with this track - C&D winner; capable of being on the premises.
Made light of a 13lb rise in the weights when making all to land the hat-trick over 7f here on Friday; carries no penalty for that Apprentices Handicap win and quite simply has the look and feel of the proverbial 'good thing'.
Left Charlie Fellowes for 5,500gns in December and has yet to show anything in the way of worthwhile form; watching brief (makes no obvious appeal) on debut for Mark Walford.
23-race maiden (0-8 on the AW); poor form claims, and difficult to view her as anything other than a travelling companion for Quite Subunctious (runs in the opener); unconsidered.
Forecasts
Lion Hearted (2/7), Elixsoft (9/1), Arabic Culture (9/1), King Oswald (16/1), Rock Island Line (20/1), Lucy's Law (22/1), Mighty Mac (25/1), Sunbreak (28/1), Street Poet (33/1), Celtic Artisan (40/1), Delegating (50/1), Passionate Love (66/1), Graphite (66/1), Strawberryandcream (66/1)
The four-timer seeking LION HEARTED absolutely toyed with his rivals over 7f here on Friday, and stepping up in trip (should suit) rates as frankly impossible to oppose. Clearly miles ahead of the handicapper, he competes without a penalty for that 6L win and holds further possible engagements this week at Chelmsford (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). For those seeking a solid each-way alternative, look no further than Elixsoft.
- Lion Hearted
- Elixsoft
- King Oswald
