Cost €70,000 as a three-year-old but things obviously haven't panned out as first planned. Left Willie Mullins after just one start in December and has shown little in the way of any ability since return to the track following a 12 month break.
Gelding by Ballingarry out of a Red Ransom mare. Cost €13,500 as a three-year-old. Weakened and was already beaten 5f on disappointing debut in a Thurles bumper earlier this month eventually beaten 75L. Others preferred.
Failed to build on a couple of promising starts in bumpers when looking a little one paced finishing fifth of 11 beaten 27L at Leopardstown when last seen in December. Possibly best watched unless market indicates otherwise.
Gelding by Fame And Glory out of a Rudimentry mare. Yard among the winners this month with Riders Onthe Storm scoring at Punchestown but possibly best watched on debut.
September Storm gelding out of a Deploy mare. Brother to bumper winner Storm Forecast. Yard not renowned for their bumpers, without a winner from 11 runners in the last five years.
Picked up by leading connections following a 7L defeat in a point-to-point when third of six 12 months ago. Could pay to watch the Buck's Boom gelding on rules debut with the yard one from 17 with their bumpers this season.
Arcadio gelding kept on for fifth in a Thurles novice hurdle on debut in November before a similar performance at Punchestown when last seen a month later. Chances if ridden more prominently by leading amateur.
Nothing of note towards the end of last year in a bumper and a maiden hurdle both at this venue on good ground. First time tongue-tie unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.
Gelding by Gold Well out of a Synefos mare. Possibly best watched on debut given the yard are without a winner from eight starters in bumpers this term.
Stowaway gelding, cost €82,000. Appears that the penny is starting to drop for the Stowaway gelding, given his efforts at Down Royal and again at Fairyhouse last month. Wouldn't have to improve much to land a blow here.
Raised eyebrows when fetching £130,000 at Cheltenham's April sale last year following solid and consistent performances in a couple of point-to-point starts. Likely to be popular in the market on debut.
Vinnie Roe gelding out of a Turtle Island mare. Dam was a winner of a point-to-point contest and sister to useful hurdler/chaser Dance Island. Any market move would be worth noting on debut.
Daughter of Flemensfirth out of a Goldmark mare. Dam won a bumper. Family owned and trained, possibly best watched on debut in a hot looking heat.
Forecasts
Thatsy (7/2), Multifactorial (9/2), Eleazar Des Neiges (13/2), Cenotice (15/2), Heliers Bay (15/2), Winding Roe (10/1), Checkout Tuesday (10/1), Legacy Thor (12/1), Four Country Roads (12/1), Imperial Grey (16/1), Eileens Boy (25/1), I'm Charlie (50/1), Midnight Master (50/1)
The Gordon Elliott-trained MULTIFUNCTIONAL has been running well in defeat of late and can get off the mark for connections at the fourth time of asking on the level. The five-year-old may find the biggest danger coming from fellow Gigginstown Stud owned Eleazar Des Neiges and stablemate Thatsy who raised eyebrows when fetching £130,000 at Cheltenham's April sale last year. The Derek O'Connor ridden Four Country Roads could be interesting if ridden a little closer to the action following a couple of runs since when making late headway on both occasions.
- Multifactorial
- Thatsy
- Eleazar Des Neiges
