One from eight at this venue but without success in five starts over C&D. Has been running well in a couple of starts since the turn of the year and should be a leading contender in this company.
Winner over C&D last month of a maiden contest before notching another success over 2m earlier this month. Leading player given the yard hold a 37% win and place strike rate in mid February at the track in the last three seasons.
Produces impressive figures of three wins from 10 over C&D and has won four of his last eight starts. More needed in this company but holds major place claims here.
Has hit the frame in one of his three visits to this venue, finishing third of 13 over 1m4f in November before finishing fourth of seven over 1m2½f earlier this month. Could find one or two better handicapped sorts in the race.
Rakti gelding not seen on the track since December but boasts a record of three wins from seven starts over C&D. Not won since returning from a three year sabbatical in November and hasn't shown enough to be of interest.
Winner of one of his 12 starts over C&D and has mostly been seen competing over further recently. Can go well but may find one or two better suited to today's conditions.
Landed a double here over 1m2½f in October before a win over C&D in November. Well held in a couple of starts since and makes little appeal in this contest.
Gutsy and genuine sort who is a winner of three of his eight starts over C&D but has been off the track since November. Possibly best watched on return unless the market suggests otherwise.
Useful 75-rated handicapper on the Flat for trainer Ed Dunlop including a win over 1m4f in September. Plenty to like about her second of seven here earlier this month over 1m2½f and appears to hold strong claims.
Without a win in five starts over C&D and is 14 starts without troubling the judge. Signs of improvement last time out over 1m4f last month but needs to produce more consistency in his races.
Dual course winner though without success in four starts over C&D. On a long losing run currently and needs to bounce back in a big way to have a say.
Forecasts
Chess Grand Master (3/1), Trevena (4/1), California Lad (6/1), Park Row (7/1), Kerosin (7/1), Tooreen Legend (8/1), Political Policy (10/1), Moonmeister (10/1), See Of Rome (10/1), Touch Of Gold (20/1), Lusis Naturea (25/1)
The Denis Hogan-trained Trevena went in to many notebooks following a solid second of seven beaten a short head on stable debut and is sure to be popular in the betting here but may find stiff opposition from the Joseph O'Brien-trained CHESS GRAND MASTER who comes here on a hat-trick of wins. C&D winners Park Row, Moonmeister and Political Policy are capable of hitting the frame.
- Chess Grand Master
