Makes belated debut after sales price plummeted to 3,000 gns last year, and yard not known for readying newcomers.

Showed some ability on debut here, but not enough to be of interest here, and has gone backwards in two subsequent starts.

Improved on poor debut effort when winning at Yarmouth in June for Chris Dwyer, but taken to favoured part of track for that win, and needs to prove the form doesn't flatter him.
Unraced son of Mazameer out of an unraced mare. Makes little appeal on pedigree.

Bought for €18,500 at the breeze-up sales in May, but has beaten just one rival in two starts, and hard to make a case for him unless blinkers have a dramatic effect.

From a solid sprinting family, and shaped as if in need of the experience when sixth of 8 to Probability in maiden at Lingfield on debut. Sure to leave that modest form behind.

Clodovil half-brother to several winners, including smart French/US 5½f-1m winner Shediak and useful 1m winner Shehira. Wouldn't need to be anything special to play a part on racecourse bow.

Forecasts

Rakastava (8/11), Major Blue (3/1), Phoenix Star (9/2), Rizzle Dizzle (10/1), Killer Queen (16/1), Empty Promises (40/1), Hilbre Lake (66/1), Lambrini Lullaby (80/1)

Verdict

Not much solid form on offer, with previous winner Phoenix Star possibly flattered by his Yarmouth win. Rakastava won't need to be a star to win on debut, but the vote goes to MAJOR BLUE, who is open to plenty of improvement after a considerate introduction at Lingfield last month.
  1. Major Blue
  2. Rakastava
  3. Phoenix Star
