Experienced campaigner who has won eight races and was in decent form until a poor run on the fibresand. Down in grade but seems better suited by Chelmsford and well beaten on previous visit here.

C&D winner from a 1lb lower mark in September and a solid enough third in a similar contest to this last month. On a competitive mark and gets his conditions again. Should be competitive.

Has fallen to a favourable mark and blinkers (retained) have sparked an improvement with close seconds the last twice over 6f here. Stays this far and likely to be competitive again but ideally suited by shorter.

Took advantage of a falling mark to land successive C&D handicaps before seemingly finding life tougher off 4lb higher here last time. Still lightly-raced but others likely better handicapped.

Arrives here at the top of his game having only narrowly been denied a hat-trick at Wolverhampton. That was a career-best and shows he up to winning off a mark this high. Looks sure to go close again.

Losing run stretches back to November 2017 when winning off 2lb higher over this C&D. Ran poorly over 6f here in December and this is tougher still. Needs to raise his game.

Forecasts

Bobby Joe Leg (10/3), Mudawwan (10/3), Insurplus (4/1), Grey Destiny (9/2), Chosen World (5/1), Gentlemen (7/1)

Verdict

GREY DESTINY is flying at present and despite the small field there should be enough pace to aim at for him to deliver his late charge. He was denied a hat-trick under an apprentice last start and with his regular pilot back on board can resume winning ways. Mudawwan likes this C&D and remains competitively weighted while Bobby Joe Leg has been revitalised by the new headgear and shouldn't be far away.
