2/1
French raider, decisive winner over timber in December at Pau (2m1½f) and has to be taken very seriously in this line-up.

Coded Message40

16/1
Sluiced up at Lingfield in early December and perhaps found 2m3½f at Wetherby on Boxing Day too far when beaten 26L into third of six. Chance of better back down in trip.
3
Horse silk
80/1
0-11 under rules and tailed off at Chepstow (2m3½f, good to soft) on second start over timber. Should find a few too good here, might be of more interest when she has a handicap mark to work with.

Horse silk
Ballybough Norah60
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Nick Scholfield| T: J Scott| OR:  110
6/1
Bought for £47,000 after winning an Irish point-to-point on her second start and made a pleasing debut under rules when third of 10 at Warwick in November. Didn't quite match that next time at Wincanton (2m5½f, good) in December. Early days yet.
5
Horse silk
150/1
Some ability shown in a couple of bumpers (in Ireland) but pulled up on hurdles debut at this track last time, and can only be watched on that evidence unless market vibes are positive.

Duhallow Gesture69
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: Aidan Coleman| T: A J Honeyball| OR:  123| BF| D
8/11
Dual bumper winner, has made the frame in both starts over hurdles at Newbury over this trip (third) and since when runner-up at Lingfield (2m3½f, good to soft) in maiden company. Likely to be in the mix again.
7
Horse silk
100/1
Regressive in bumper and was sent off 66/1 on recent hurdling bow at Fontwell over similar trip. Jumped slowly at times and eventually fell when held late on. Hard to recommend.

Forecasts

Duhallow Gesture (8/11), Presidente Line (2/1), Queen's Magic (4/1), Ballybough Nora (6/1), Perfect Myth (10/1), Coded Message (16/1), Ali The Hunter (80/1), Minnie Escape (100/1), Broke Away (150/1)

Verdict

Useful bumper winner Duhallow Gesture has shown enough over timber to suggest he'll be winning soon and he is an obvious candidate now but French raider PRESIDENTE LINE need maximum respect here. He's already scored in a big-field at Pau and, despite conceding weight, is fancied to go well. Coded Message should find the drop back in trip advantageous while Queen's Magic continues to run well in defeat and may do so once again.
  1. Presidente Line
  2. Duhallow Gesture
  3. Queen's Magic
