Has slowly got the hang of fences, came good at Exeter with a solid round of jumping but then the odd error crept in again when second to Lostintranslation in the Dipper last time. 3lb better off today gives him chances of turning it around.

Quietly progressive and turned in a good effort at Huntingdon last time, winning readily despite the odd mistake. Worries would be the ground, which may be soft enough for him, and this step up in grade. Needs to pull out more.

Made for fences and rallied well to beat Defi Du Seuil in the Dipper last time after looking like the latter had his measure at the last. Track should be fine, ground shouldn't be an issue and a clear round (hasn't always) puts him in the picture.

Another that was always going to make a good chaser, nothing wrong with his second to Jerrysback in what looked a competitive event at Bangor last time, and has had wind surgery since. Open to more improvement and may go well.

Has become something of a win machine, ready enough winner of a Grade 2 at Ascot last time (made early mistake, but settled after that) although it wasn't the strongest race. However, ground and trip ideal, and every chance in a tricky race to call.

Forecasts

Vinndication (15/8), Lostintranslation (2/1), Defi Du Seuil (9/4), Dell Oro (14/1), Mulcahys Hill (16/1)

Verdict

Jumping is always the name of the game at Sandown and whoever puts in a clear round may well take the prize. Defi Du Seuil looked all over the winner at Cheltenham last time before a rallying LOSTINTRANSLATION took over again close home, and although the former is better off at the weights, this track may well play to the latter's strengths. He's taken to come out on top. Vinndication keeps on winning and will probably try and lead these start to finish - if he can shake them off early and get in a rhythm, he could take some catching. Mulcahys Hill always threatened to make a better chaser than hurdler and he adds more spice to a fascinating contest.
  1. Lostintranslation
  2. Vinndication
  3. Mulcahys Hill
